WONDERFUL - NATIVE AMERICAN - LENAPE TRIBE, July 9, 2008
This review is from: Bound By Honor (Silhouette Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Gage Dalton was of the Lenape tribe of the Delaware Indians - he is grieving and emotionally dead. He has a ranch where he raises Pinto horses and keeps to himself.
Jenna Butler, 26 is a white woman who wants to claim her sister, Amy's six month old daughter, Lily. The trouble is that Lily is half Lenape. Her father is the Native American artist, David Collins. Amy and David lived on the Broken Bow rez. They are now deceased.
On the way to Broken Bow, Jenna saves Gage from a horrific accident and now Gage owes Jenna a Life Gift. After two months of dragging out meetings with the Elders and becoming frustrated, Jenna approaches Gage with a proposition of marriage.
Gage is not ready for marriage of any kind but he does know that it is his grandfather, Chee'pai who refuses to turn the child over to Jenna.
We learn of the troubles that Jenna must overcome and of the strange attraction she feels for Gage. And of Gage's life on the ranch and how he deals with Jenna and Lily.
This is a heart-warming story - little tidbits of information about the Lenape and their feelings of family - intense attraction that brooks no denial.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED -- a KEEPER if you enjoy Native American stories.

Short and Sweet, April 25, 2010
This review is from: Bound By Honor (Silhouette Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Short and sweet. This is the story of Jenna Butler whose sister has died leaving behind a 5 month old daughter who is half Lenape indian. The council of elders won't let her raise the girl because she is white so she convinces Gage Dalton a Lenape who owes her a life debt to marry her. Gage lost his own wife and child a year ago in an accident and is still grieving. During their marriage Jenna teaches him to love again. This was well written. The story was short so there wasn't time for a lot of indepth character building. Some elements of Native American culture were explored. [close]
