I was drawn to this book after reading the blurb. I thought the concept was unique and I was immediately intrigued. I also loved the cover. The book fell short for me though. There was great potential but there were a few things that made me give it only 3 star. Firstly everything was far too rushed and this I felt was a result of the book being so short. There was no time for Ronnie and Liam to fully flesh out there relationship and so I felt like they fell for each other far too quickly. It was definitely a case of insta-love which I was disappointed with. I would have loved a slower progression of their relationship. I never really connected with either character.
There was also numerous grammatical errors. There was a constant switching of tenses in the middle of sentences and several spelling errors.
This book has great potential and I can see this author bringing out some great books but I felt this book was far too rushed and not enough time put into it. The author should have spent more time fleshing out the characters and the story and definitely on the editing. A good attempt at a debut novel.

I am thrilled to have been able to read this book before it was released as it is from one of my friends at I Heart Books. I am so proud to have her as a friend, and proud she has achieved her dream. I look forward to reading many more stories in the future.

Veronica, or Ronnie to her friends, is 18 years old. She lives with her alcoholic mother and her abusive partner. She decides, as a birthday present to herself, to get a tattoo. Finding her way to a new tattoo parlour she meets Devon, the tattoo artist, who suggests a dragon tattoo.

"Dragons are protectors, they are valiant and powerful. They protect anything that belongs to them. You look like you could use a guardian in your life."

Ronnie's tattoo, however, is no ordinary tattoo. It is indeed her protector, and comes to life in the form of the very gorgeous Liam whenever she needs help, or protecting.

Ronnie very quickly falls for Liam, as he does also, but can they ever truly be happy? Will Liam always be there for Ronnie or is she destined to lose him? Why was Ronnie chosen to have such a tattoo?

There is a reason for everything in life, and there is a reason for Ronnie and Liam 'finding' each other. Will they both get their 'happy ever after' or is there another destiny ahead for them both?

This is a short story, but is has a lot within it. The author has written from her own personal experiences, which made it even more poignant for me to read. I know the old saying 'write what you know' but for an author to put personal experiences such as these in a story for others to read takes guts. I take my hat off to all authors who do this.

In this story you will be introduced to a new type of guardian angel. It is an awesome story about picking yourself up and starting over! I read this in two settings - if I hadn't been so tired, I would have finished it the first day! At times it brought tears to my eyes, and other times (see the quote below) had me laughing out loud! And now a bit about the story...

Veronica (or Ronnie to her friends) has had a hard life since her father left. She was 13 years old and her mom didn't handle it well. Turning to the bottle and bad choices in men landed them in trouble. The morning she turned 18 her step dad gives her a black eye, but she isn't going to let it get her down. She works her shift at the diner and then goes out to get herself a present - a new tattoo! Little does she know she is about to change her life. Check out this book to meet Liam, her tattoo and protector!

Favorite passage: "There's no sock there." I looked up at him really fast, and just then I knew I was about to fall over and die from embarrassment.

I was intrigued with this story line; a dragon tattoo that is actually a protector and a hot guy!?! What's not to like? Ronnie lives a sad life where she and her mother are abused by her mother's current husband. For her 18th birthday, she decides to get a new tattoo to celebrate. (Yes, they are addicting! LOL) The tattoo shop artist is a White Dragon who tattoos Liam onto her shoulder. Liam will be her protector in the human world. For a short time, until they have each learned a life lesson.

Great concept. Unfortunately, the story itself falls a little short. The author switches verb tenses frequently and doesn't seem to fully understand comma use.

The ending was bittersweet, but realistic.

I think this story has a ton of potential and hope Ms. Medina will revise it.

First off. I absolutely ADORE dragons. Make said dragon turn into a sexy male and I'm hooked! This book seems to me like an introduction of what's to come... I hope I'm correct because I REALLY dislike being left hanging! All in all a good read that any fans of the genre with enjoy :)

Ronnie recently had a birthday and is treating herself with a specific gift she's wanted on her special day. Little does she know how very special the gift really is and what's in store for her future.

A good start to a new series and I'm excited to see where the author will go next with it. A 3.5 rounded to 4 rating.
