Book Description

** This Series is meant to be read in sequential order as the books are NOT standalone.**

They were promised weight loss, the cure for Cancer, Parkinson's Disease and infertility; they were promised hope.

The side effects were anything but hopeful.

Mara faces seemingly insurmountable obstacles and adversities as she works feverishly to
free Sebastian from the holds which bind him. Her refusal to abandon him, and his refusal to let her slip away, keep them fighting to be reunited. Fears escalate and dangers destroy their beliefs, but they cling to their love and find strength in each other even when separated. Mara and Sebastian manage to face each act of violence, each tragedy, and terrifying sight with a strength which won't bend to any confrontation.

"Gritty, violent, tragic and terrifying, this whole series also manages to be touching,
romantic and at times, even sexy....."-Jess the Romanceaholic

5.0 out of 5 stars Yellow Zombies infesting Vancouver Island??? December 20, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Well... The Nevermores are not really zombies, but they are really scary. The second book pulled me right along and answered some of my questions from the first book. The Nevermores become evermore believable as the tension rises. I enjoyed it very much and will be continuing the read with the last book in this wonderfully imaginative series.

Such a great continuation of where the first book left off. The only thing that had me irritated was that I couldn't download this right after reading the first book as I was sitting in a plane. But that Jessica... My what a character lol

4.0 out of 5 stars Great sequel April 17, 2012
By Irena
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This sequel to Sundered is just as fast paced and enjoyable as its predecessor. Mara, our tough, pregnant heroine, continues to fight for survival in a post-apocalyptic world where most of the population has been turned into Nevermores, feral humanoid creatures with a craving for flesh and blood. She refuses to give up on her Nevermore husband, Sebastian, and he in turn fights his nature out of the love for her and their child that still lives within him.

As the novel begins, Mara and Sebastian are being kidnapped by soldiers to be held prisoner along with Sebastian's pack. Can they survive their captors' cruelty and madness? Is their baby going to be all right? Is the "cure" that the mad scientist Donavan is working on actually a cure, or some sort of horrifying lobotomy? Can't wait to read book 3!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome! October 2, 2011
By Liz123
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book is captivating and continues the story from the first book nicely. I really enjoyed seeing how Mara progressed in survival skills and how her relation ship with her husband as a nevermore. Also loved the romance aspect of it!Look foward to the next read to answer all the questions and tie all the loose ends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Meeting Mara again - Wonderful October 2, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Book two in the Nevermore trilogy is just as well-written and just as good a read as book one - Sundered. It's been said that chapter one of a book sells that book and that the last chapter sells the next one. In this case that is right on the money. We're all waiting for the third book.

In 'Bound' we meet again with Mara as she meets up with new enemies and new challenges. There's lots of action for us thriller readers and once again Shannon Mayer has created well-rounded characters and a strong female lead. Good plotline, a story that works on many levels and even across genres - we've got horror, romance, thriller and a touch of mystery to keep every kind of reader glued to the book.

Great tale, terrific author. Well done, Shannon and thanks. You just keep on writin'.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Gravy Train Keeps on Chugging April 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Wow--just finished the first book in this series (Sundered), and literally raced through Bound. I'm blown away by the job that Mayer is doing in terms of building the romantic relationship while at the same time keeping the action and suspense at mach speed!

So, to briefly summarize, Mara is back (obviously) and she is growing stronger by the page. *MINOR SPOILER ALERT* Her relationship with Sebastian is actually MORE interesting and deep, in my opinion, after he became a Nevermore. To see him overcome the effects of the drug because of his immense love for her is just so powerful. At the same time, Mayer is introducing new characters at a fast but believable rate. It is fascinating how all of their actions are ultimately tied to overcoming the Nevermore disease, although some of their paths to their goals are down much more sinister paths than others.

Mayer has created an intriguing world in which I yearn to immerse myself. Kudos to her! Dauntless is next.

5.0 out of 5 stars Frustrated February 17, 2012
By Suzanne
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
As with the first book, this book is fantastic. It picks up the journey of Mara and Sebastian. It is not a standalone and will need to be read only after reading the first book "Sundered". This book answered more questions regarding the outbreak and how it started. A couple of things I didn't like as well as the first one - it left with a bigger cliffhanger so you have to buy the third book. With the first book if one chose not to continue to the saga it would still be ok, it was a good read. This book demands purchasing the third book (which I hope is the final installment). I would have liked it more had it been one novel instead of three. I also didn't care for the loss of some of the characters I started liking throughout this book. I don't know if I would have had the love and determination Mara has with her continued attachment to Sebastian, she is a strong character. I love her sass and feistyness. Overall it is still a 5 star because I couldn't put it down, had to read it straight-through (glad it is a short story!)
