34% of ordinary joes complain of low grade, general fatigue. In this book Elisabeth Wilson attempts to convince us that she has a bag of tricks (taught by experts over the years) to make us feeling more energetic right away.

There are many quizes and questionaires in this book. Most of them are easy to answer if you want the diagnosis to turn out a certain way. Ms Wilson highlights the basics we need to address:

1. eating enough good quality food
2. sleeping enough
3. getting well hydrated with fluids
4. exercising enough
5. stop smoking

I think any reader with even a little intelligence or education can figure that out for himself/herself. Ms Wilson then tries to make her book more relevant by announcing the secret short cuts to help us gain more energy.

How to eat? You must have breakfast. You must have lunch. You must snack in between. Next, exercise, breathe deeply, take a warm bath before you sleep, make sure you don't keep the lights on, don't waste energy on beautifying yourself and shopping, meditate, control your anger, eat nuts, join the "Slow Movement" ... then it's back to taking breakfast again ...

This book reads like a collection of articles from a hundred different magazines. There are similar topics dealt in a different way and the subjects covered vary from TCM to ayuveda. Even though experts would probably agree with most of the advice given, it might be much better for people suffering from the lack of energy due to a specific cause to consult experts in that particular field. It seems that the author is a jack of all trades and a master of none.

I really liked the ideas put forth in this book. I use some of them in my daily life and they work for me. This book explained why these and other techniques may help to improve my energy level!

I had bought the book at an airport some years ago but never got around to read it fully, until now ( Oct 2013). It pulled me out of the low that I have been going through of late in my early 50s. The short chapters, small little useful tips, they've begun showing results, whether it is the strength of the texts or the power of my faith, I don't care. But this book did good to me, and I thank the writer and publisher for it.
