Product Description

The bodies start piling up early in this tale of bank robbers, bounty hunters, contract killers, and mysterious riflemen who ride by the light of the moon. Inside we meet Sierra Ryan, a woman bounty hunter on the trail of Thumbs McMullen, a merciless bank robber who kills his victims after they've handed over the money. Along with cowboy Pace Stufford and the aloof Comanche warrior Breezy Fox, Sierra tracks her prey to a small New Mexico town where killers work above the law and nothing is what it appears to be. The action builds into a tempest of gunfire, pride, and passion that will leave you guessing until the last page.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bounties: The Pretty Little Killers is pretty good ...., April 1, 2003
By A Customer
This is the first western book that I have read. I do not have much to compare it to; however I hope that not all western stories are this void of detail. I'm not sure if it was the west that was void of detail or if it was just the book. Though the story itself was appealing it seemed to drag on with little to offer in between. I did enjoy the characters and was disappointed to see Ruth leave so abruptly. I would think other western books are slightly more "shoot'im up" than Bounties though I'm glad that there wasn't a lot of "killin'" and blood to be seen. Oh..I also thought it interesting some of the language used to describe the fat sheriff (Connor), it wasn't very western, it was almost too modern. More like the words we use today to describe someone we dislike. I could give western books one more try, though they're just not the kind of books that I typically find myself interested in.
