5.0 out of 5 stars Good, Reliable Bag
For the life of me, I don't understand why this product has gotten so many negative reviews; though, I am guessing it is because people are not fully researching the product to see if their equipment fits, or perhaps they are not purchasing the proper bag to carry and store their detectors. I saw a review where the guy said he could put two detectors and all his equipment in the bag. I can't. There is enough room for 8" and 4" coils and headphones, but you have to take everything out of the bag to get to them. The bag is cramped with the detector alone and offers no padding for protection. If it sold in the $5 to $10 range, I would have given it two stars.

For the life of me, I don't understand why this product has gotten so many negative reviews; though, I am guessing it is because people are not fully researching the product to see if their equipment fits, or perhaps they are not purchasing the proper bag to carry and store their detectors. However, I find this bag to be great for carrying and storing my Bounty Hunter TRACKER IV metal detector, along with the headphones and the spare detector coil.

It's actually quite roomy and is the perfect length for my detector, and I find the straps inside the bag helpful in securing the detector. I do have to separate the detector into two pieces before storage, but that is not a problem to me. Though it looks thin, the bag is actually padded enough to protect its contents (my metal detector came out without a scratch after a 5+ hour car trip in which we heard it moving around in the trunk from time to time) and it also keeps them protected from the elements. I find it easy to carry as the bag does not tilt to one side, and the extra strap allows you to carry the bag over your shoulder, freeing your hands.

I really like the bold white lettering with the bit of blue on the logo; it's stylish, smart, and eye-catching, and shows that you are not up to no good with a long, black canvas bag!

3.0 out of 5 stars Just a rectangular bag with handles., April 27, 2008
The quality of this carry bag is just fine. But that's about it. There are no padded dividers, or any type of padded compartments, or any padding anywhere for that matter, or any rigidity to the bottom, or any type of configuration structures inside the bag for holding and PROTECTING your expensive Detector equipment. Which would then make this plain square bag and really nice and really useful carry bag. Instead, it's just nothing more than a rectangular (thin) nylon bag with two little 'universal' velcro straps in side and two strap handles on the outside. Overall, I was VERY disappointed at the lack of design and total lack of any protective padding in this Metal Detector Carry Bag. I guess it is better than nothing......but just barely.

2.0 out of 5 stars Questionable Value, July 11, 2010

I bought the metal detector because I needed to find a lost survey pin. I assumed I'd need something to keep it in so I ordered the carry bag. It is reasonably well made but it is just a nylon zippered bag. There is nothing particularly unique about it (other than the name emblazoned on the side) and it does not afford the metal detector much protection. The metal detector arrived in a well designed box that would suffice for long term storage and probably offer more protection against accidental damage in transit. It would take more time to unpack and repack the box so I'd recommend the carrying bag to those buying a metal detector for frequent use. But for someone who, like me, who intends to use the device infrequently and needs a storage case, I'd recommend saving the twenty bucks. Just use the product packaging.

The Bounty Hunter CBAG Custom Carry Bag appears to be well made and I am pleased to say that the stainless steel scoop, as well as the Bounty Hunter TP-KIT Pouch and Trowel Combo Kit, easily fit into the bag so I have only one thing to carry.

Like many other reviews, the Bounty Hunter Carry Bag lacks pretty much padding, period. It is nicely constructed with good material and has an inner silky-like liner with maybe a thin sheet of something sandwiched in between the two. But basically it's like a thin one layer canvas bag for the most part.
With my Quick Draw II broke down it fits ok, but with a tight fit on putting the front shaft into the bag.

The bag has a bag length adjustable shoulder strap, two smaller handheld straps, dual closing bag length zippers and a 8.5" x 8.5" zippered storage area on one outside end and Velcro straps inside. But when I strap the detector down then the head control unit has to lay on the bottom of the bag for the straps to hold it.
Bag does have quite a bit of room but everything will just bang together as there is no partitions or padding inside.
Buy some bubble wrap I guess and wrap everything up, then strap it down and then it's a great bag.

Great for transporting your Bounty Hunter. Has Velcro loops inside to hold down the straight section of the detector (you separate the sections to minimize length) and a small outside pocket on one end for spare batteries. Also has plenty of room for headphones and other supporting equipment.

The huge logo on the outside is a bit distracting, but is otherwise worth it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too small, April 11, 2009
This review is from: Bounty Hunter CBAG-W Custom Carry Bag (Lawn & Patio)
I have a bounty hunter discovery 3300. The thing barely fits in the bag. I have to use both hands and really juggle and stretch the opening to slip it in. I also have to flip the coil over as it won't fit in with the coil attached and angled as I use the coil. If the bag was only 2 inches longer, then that would be nicer. If it were 8 to 10 inches longer that would be really ideal. A stiff floor to keep the bag open as you rummage through it would be good too. I'm going to add one to my bag and see if that helps. Also, the white lettering is a little too bold. If Bounty Hunter wants me to carry a billboard around advertising their detectors, then they can pay me. I blacked the lettering out with a sharpie pen. It's there but much more subdued. They should have done the lettering in a dark gray. It's really dumb to have to take your detector apart to fit it into a bag. That's unnecessary wear on the connector as well as other parts. I feel like I'm damaging my detector, taking it apart and putting it back together so often, not protecting it like the bag should be providing. I'll use it until I fit a suitable replacement, then it will be used to stow tent poles or something for camping, maybe kitchen supplies. Sorry Bounty Hunter put this bag is a turd!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bounty Hunter Bag, January 5, 2012

I found the bag to be worth what I paid for it. If you want it stiff on the bottom, just add stiff cardboard or better yet thin pliable plastic. I have more than enough room. The idea is not to stuff the bag full of "stuff". Travel light and cover more ground. Those pockets are the inside a large enough for a writing pad and to carry necessary items. I actually put extra straps on it to carry it like a backpack. Yankee ingenuity goes a long way. Good luck hunters!

Perfect bag for your Bounty Hunter Metal Dectector. I was able to add another coil and a book and digging tools with no problem.
