This is a good buy for the price,the GOLD DIGGER does what it claims to do.I took it to a local beach in my area i found anything from a penny to aluminum foil,some of the objects was small and about six inches or so deep.You do find a lot of trash but i found it to be very sensitive to objects of all metals when trash eleminator was off,but this way you miss nothing.Also it can detect larger objects at greater depths,it was fun to use and i recommend it to anyone.

I simply wanted to do a video about this metal detector. But we actually found something while making the video.

I got this last night and as soon as I woke up this morning.I got it and went in my woods.Within going 30ft I got at least 20 hits! I found stuff such as a babered wire fence, 200 year old nail, and maybe the side of a musket. It works great very easy to assemble and use. I suggest this for anyone intrestead in finding meal items. also it was very easy to learn how use the dials. My brother learned how and he is only 10 and never used anything like a metal decetor.

I purchased this metal detector for myself and my BF. We've both never metal detected before as a hobby, but were interested in trying it out. We saw this Bounty Hunter "Gold Digger" model on Amazon for a fair price, and figured why not give it a go!

Well, the unit is very user freindly! It's very easy to put together. It should take only about 10 minutes following the directions that come with the item. It simply operates using two 9-volt batteries. If this is a gift, don't forget the batteries...or the whole excitement factor just went out the window,lol. Anyway, we've since taken it out into the wooods a maybe a handful of times so far, and for all intensive purposes..it does an ok job. We found a few coins, some rusty nails and such, and it pretty much does what it was built to do.

As we did more research, however, we've since discovered that if this is going to be a new hobby for someone...A LOT of time and energy can be saved by moving up to the next price point ($200 or so). What I mean is some of the units in that higher price point have a little basic monitor on the front that can tell you what it is you've found...before you spend 15-30 minutes DIGGING and...DIGGING, just to come up with nasty rusted out tin can that is useless! Take my word for it, this "Gold Digger" model is...just ok for a beginner. Maybe great for a kid with lots of endless energy to burn digging a hundred holes a day every weekend. But, if it's for you, or an adult friend who is taking up Detectoring as a new and exciting hobby...pop for the higher end unit and you'll (he,she,mom,dad,pal) will have a much better time knowing that you're at least digging or sifting through loose sand for say a valuable coin...instead of some junk that someone should have put in a trash can 50 years ago!

I took the detector out yesterday for the first time. For the price, I was pretty impressed. It is simple and accurate. The parts were more sturdy than I expected. I was out for about 3 hours with it and found 5 items(In the deep woods). The detector picked up items on the surface and about seven inches deep. It did pick up something past that depth, but I had to stop digging. The sound is loud and it comes with a cheap set of earphones(I did not try them out). My only concern would be if you have any issue hearing exact tones, you may want to get a different one. The trash eliminator, at times, sounds almost the same as when it is off. All and all, it is a good product, easy to use, and a lot of fun.

I bought this metal detector to go "treasure hunting" with my son. I have learned 2 things from the experience. 1. Living under power lines yields many old coaxial connectors and bolts and 2. This metal detector is perfect for my needs. The junk detector works well when you want it to. I could instantly predict when I had found a coin before digging with 90% accuracy (damn aluminum siding bits seem to give off same signals as coins). If you are just looking for a time to time toy to hunt metal with, this is a great choice. Don't get tricked into spending a bunch of money on those detectors with a bunch of fancy features you will never use!

I found the "Bounty Hunter" metal detector a wonderful "prize" this Christmas. It was a gift for my son, for whom I did not know what to give as a "surprise" gift. He has since taken out his two daughters to go treasure hunting at a nearby park. The product proved more substantial and reliable than expected considering the price in relation to many other detectors. Although no pots of gold were found, the few trickets did whet their appetites for more "exploring" this coming summer at the lake.

I love the Bounty Hunter Gold digger metal detector.I bought it for my son who is 15 years old for Christmas.You no sometimes you just hon,t no what to buy.But this was a good choice.He loves to go outside and use it.It,s really a good way to get your kids out of the house, instead of watching t.v. or playing video games.He,s found alot of change in the yard and different types of metal.I suggest this metal detector to anyone.My son really enjoys it.

I really didn't expect much at this price. to my suprise, it works pretty good. It took 5min. to set up. The dials are pretty much common sense, but I would read the instructions for fine tuning. I reccomend getting rechargeable batteries due to the short battery life. Other then that, this is great for kids or beginners.

It's an alright detector but it's not very accurate. I tested it by using an old tin can, Quarter, and a penny, tried all different settings but everything sounded exactly the same. Even used a computer to test sound frequency etc(just in case), all frequencies identical. So if you are looking for a very accurate detector this is not for you.
If you want something to get started on, this will do the job.
