5.0 out of 5 stars Good paper towels for use at a medical office
I use these paper towels because they are the best and they ship in bulk to my office. I don't care that it's $10 more expensive ---hypothetically--- to buy these towels from the grocery store. I rate these towels "5" because the other reviews were too harsh just because of price. For something that I use every day, I have no problem paying a bit extra for the quality and...

1.0 out of 5 stars Good product, HIGH price
I just purchased this product through the subscribe and save program and thought that I must be saving at least a little off of what I could buy it for locally. To be honest I'd be happy to pay even a couple of bucks more for the convenience but OH MY GOSH, I just did a price comparison at our local discount grocer and it was $16 more expensive through Amazon. Ouch. Now I'm wondering if I'm saving anything through the subscribe and save program on my other items. Very disappointing!

1.0 out of 5 stars Subscribe and...SAVE?!?, April 17, 2009
This review is from: Bounty Paper Towels, Select-A-Size, White (Case of 24) (Health and Beauty)
I agree with the former reviewer - I, too, would pay a LITTLE extra for convenience, but hey. At the subscribe and save price at the time of this review, the price PER ROLL is $2.25. I repeat: $2.25 PER ROLL of paper towels. Yikes! Amazon should be ashamed to even pretend there is value here.

However, don't give up on Subscribe and Save completely - I get a ton of deals this way. Evidently not on paper towels, but it is a godsend for diapers, wipes, coffee, etc.

Just watch for prices creeping upward AFTER you've subscribed. Not on everything, but certainly on Seventh Generation Diapers, for example.

2.0 out of 5 stars ABSORBENT Towel - EXHORBITANT Price!, July 20, 2009

We all know that Bounty makes the best paper towel. Hands down, there is nothing that comes close. But the price Amazon is charging is almost criminal. They should be embarrassed to market this under the Subscribe and Save banner -- there are no savings here. I live in NYC, where prices are sky high, and I can get Bounty in my local supermarket for a less per roll price.

But I'm paying for the convenience of having these delivered in bulk. So, I pay the extra... grrrrr!

I love Bounty, and would give this product 5 stars for being a superior paper towel. It gets 2 stars because of the price.

Frankly, I don't understand why people are so insistent on spending all their time shuttling stock through traffic only to save a few dollars. That's what's UPS is for.

3.0 out of 5 stars Price comparison, August 17, 2009
This review is from: Bounty Paper Towels, Select-A-Size, White (Case of 24) (Health and Beauty)
You have to be carefull on how you compare the price on paper towels. These are around $2.00 per roll but they are also over 2x larger than the 1.40 rolls at my local market. Thses have 128 sheets per roll and the standrd roll has only 52 sheets

4.0 out of 5 stars Great paper towels - way overpriced!, August 28, 2009
I've always paid a little extra for Bounty, because they are worth it. However, the price being charged on Amazon is ridiculous - my high-priced grocery store is cheaper!

4.0 out of 5 stars Select-A-Size is great, but pricing changes too much, January 14, 2011

Select-A-Size is great. I wish they were more easily available.

The actual paper towel is great too, but pricing has been up and down and roll size is confusing, preventing me from giving them a full 5-star rating.

Number of regular size sheets & square feet per roll:
* Regular: 52 (43.6 square feet)
* Big: 70 (58.8 square feet)
* Giant: 78 (65.5 square feet)
* Mega: 87 (69.7 square feet)
* Mega Plus: 96 (80.6 square feet)
* Super Mega: 104 (87.3 square feet)
* Huge ("biggest Bounty roll ever"): 130 (109.2 square feet = ~2.5X the regular roll)

I bought a case of paper towels, not because I have a large family and go through paper towels quickly, but because I hate running out of them! These come in a nifty case with a perforated top for easy removal of one package at a time. The rest can easily stay in the box and be put away in storage. As for the brand, I have always preferred Bounty. I find the Select-A-Size a bonus that reduces waste. Why use a full size paper towel when you only need a small piece for the job? And the icing on the cake? I don't have to remember to pick up paper towels at the grocery store for the next year!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars It is all relative, January 4, 2010
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I understand the price concerns from those who have easy access to "big box" stores, but the Amazon ship and save price is less than half the price of my home delivery grocery service. With a two person household, by the time I pay the annual membership fees and all the gas to drive to exurbia those big box stores aren't much of a bargain as I rarely need a gallon of olive oil. Amazon's reliability and the ease of subscribing for deliveries of staples like bulky paper goods, plus the reasonable price (relative to my personal options) makes this an easy five star.
