Car Chase and End Theme Info,
By Rachel (Newcastle, NSW, AUS) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Bourne Identity (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (Audio CD)
The exact name of the 'car chase theme music' is Ready Steady Go by Paul Oakenfold (correct spelling). The 'end theme song' is Extreme Ways by Moby. Exteme Ways can be found on the follow up single to we are all made of stars, which is helpfully called Extreme Ways- released in August 2002. Ready Steady Go can be found on Oakenfold's album released June 2002 titled Bunkka. By the way, the easiest solution to getting either of these songs is just to download them! Personally i think the single and album are both worth the money though, you decide :o)

The end credit music is "Extreme Ways" by Moby on his album "18"
Awesome tune, awesome film not sure about supremacy its totally different from the book and the book was ace with a great story. Any one who loves the Bourne story read the Bourn Identity, The Bourne Supremacy and the Bourne Ultimatum. another cool tunes from The Bourn Identity (mini car chase) and also used in Collateral (night club scene)is "Ready, Steady Go" by "Paul Oakenfold"

A good soundtrack, but have reservations,

"The Bourne Identity", the scores in the movie were very intense, enough to make me want to buy the CD. After buying it, I was somewhat let down, but not disappionted. I expected to hear some more melodic techno beats that were familiar in the movie, such as the background music during the car chase scene, or the stylish Moby "Porcelain" sounding music during the end credits. I understand this is a Motion Picture Soundtrack, so I cannot expect anything new from what was heard in the movie. Most of the tracks sound kind of mixed, uneven, scratchy and muffled, it fit the mood of the particular scene, but listening to it alone without the movie makes it hard to get into. I hoped they would have included the more cooler scores. On the bright side, there was one gold gem on track 3 "Treadstone Assassins"...it is simply a cool rif! I would recommend borrowing the CD first and listening to it before shelling out your hard earned money.

If you buy the soundtrack expecting "Ready, Steady, Go" (car chase scene) and "Extreme Ways" (end credits), you will be dissapointed. However the rest of soundtrack is top-notch, and a very worthy film score. The scores for the action scenes are done very well, which support the movie well, and stand admirably on their own. Overall it's an original, varied, and moody soundtrack, and I highly reccomend it.

Skip this CD. What you really want is Paul Oakenfold,
This review is from: The Bourne Identity (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (Audio CD)
After watching The Bourne Identity, I was impressed with how cool the music was, and wanted to get my hands on it. So, I did the natural thing - went and bought the sound track. That's when I figured it out. The music I wanted to hear wasn't there. The song played during the car chase is "Ready Steady, Go" from Paul Oakenfold, and the other cool song is "Extreme Ways" from Moby (plays during the credits.) The sound track CD is merely a collection of 2-3 minute shorts that were obviously meant to be listen to in combination with a movie, and they fail to stand on their own. (Okay, there's about 3 tracks that are halfway cool, but one of these also wasn't in the movie - it's the remix at the end of the album.) Save yourself a few bucks and go buy the music you remember form the movie. (Also, if you like the music in the trailers, check out the sound track to "Run Lola Run")

Good "soundtrack" music,
By Brent Holland (Orland, California United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Bourne Identity (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (Audio CD)
If you looking for the chase scene music - it's not in here. The chase scene track is titled "Ready, Steady, Go" by Paul Oakenfold in case you want to find it. The music on the CD is still pretty cool though - it gets a little slow and long in some spots. I used some of it for a video compilation recently and it worked out pretty good. If you in the mood for more melodic or faster paced music - this might not be for you but if you want slower atmospheric music - it's great.

Composer/producer/programmer/arranger John Powell gives you a mind-bending ambient journey by switching at top-speed between different genres. Very high production values in this soundtrack; loads of scintillating loops weave in and out of emotional performances by the Hollywood Studio Symphony. Snippets of orchestral angst, all-out drum-and-bass action, hypnotic minimalist themes, electronic experimentation, and a bunch of gorgeous percussion samples that zip through the stereo field like ping-pong balls. The resultant mix feeds you energy and keeps your mind moving and your heart beating. Listen to it through headphones while working on papers, or at top volume on your car's speakers while taking a road trip. Melodies are few and far between; it's a percussion journey with exhilarating rollercoasters of high-speed adrenaline erupting from eerie "Memento"-style ambient electronic textures. Do not buy this CD if you are expecting to hear "Ready Steady Go" or the other hit tunes from the movie. This is for the theme-music lovers who want to see the beauty of an experienced film composer experimenting crazily with all the tools available to him. I give it six stars. Three thumbs up. Whatever. This is everything a movie soundtrack SHOULD be.

finally a soundtrack with simply great music!!! When you put this CD in the player your friends won't believe it's music that came from a movie. When I put this cd in my truck my friend asked me "this is some good tunes what group is this?" When I told him it was the music from the new movie "The Bourne Identity" he was in disbelief...so if you jst want some great music get this soundtrack.
