5.0 out of 5 stars Madonna's worthy successor.., September 16, 2004
By
This review is from: Boutique (Dig) (Audio CD)
Wow. This is Madonna. I mean, it encompasses exactly what Madonna released in the mid 90's. You mean it's not her? :)

Anyway I think Madison Park is easily the best thing to surface in the electronica-savvy chillout scene after all the other mindless head-swelling trance and ambient groove noise out there. I love this stuff! Boutique is probably the most fitting name for this album, as the atmosphere feels like a saucy boutique. The music is both smart and fun.

I can visualize a hybrid here among the likes of, say, Everything But The Girl, Swing Out Sister, and even Dubstar (for those familiar with the British glamour-pop scene).

So buy this album and leave it in your car. That way both will put on the miles.

I was turned on to this group last year threw the New Sound Theory compulations that BasicLux puts out . I've been waiting for awhile for their full release . I have to say I was not let down by this dou .At this time this is my favorite group .If you don't have this CD you should buy it . You will be blown away by the vocal talent of DeAnna Cool and the programing skills of James Cool . I was !!

All I can say is "wow" I give this one a 10 out 10

5.0 out of 5 stars Madison Park Sounds More Like Madonna Than Madonna Does!, December 16, 2006
By
This review is from: Boutique (Dig) (Audio CD)
Okay, if you are a die-hard Madonna fan that has stuck with her through the good years (the 90s) and the crap years (everything after that), you're sure to be an automatic fan of Madison Park. The vocalist sounds so much like Madonna that it's uncanny! Every track is fantastic -- there are no "bad" songs on this disc. Very danceable...I was bopping around my apartment the moment I put it in.

The only complaint I have is that the 3rd track "Sense and Sensibility" seems to have some problem with the mastering because it sounds as if it's skipping, although there are no visible signs of scratches on the disc. It only "skipped" through this song, and all the others were fine. Maybe a little studio glitch?

Other than, I highly recommend this CD to any fan of 90s-era Madonna music. Buy this disc - you'll be really glad you did!!

Great, solid album. Reminds me of Everything but the Girl. EBTG fans will dig this CD.

This is the album Madonna should have made, instead of Amercan Life.

What an awesome album. Words do not do this album justice. One must experience it for themselves. I never grow tired of listening to the rythmatic tones and vibes complimented by refreshingly, beautiful vocals.

Well done Madisson Park. I can't wait to get a copy of your next album.

A CD that really doesn't have a bad song on it. Does have several similar beats, but am very happy with the CD. I would buy again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice party album with only a few weak tracks, October 14, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

You won't find challenging lyrics or deep insightful thoughts on this mostly danceable CD. The uptempo beats and shimmering, lush, synth-forward, non-threatening party vibes would play perfectly out on the veranda next to the swimming pool while sipping during cocktail hour...or with some wise track deletions, out on the sweaty dance floor. Lead vocalist DeAnna has a lovely voice. What kind of style is this: Some tracks sound like Madonna channeled them on her "Confessions" CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Compelling, April 2, 2004

Words are just so inadequate to describe music. Especially with Boutique. You just have to hear it for yourself.
Sense and Sensibility just pulls you in. Boutique is lyrically ingenius and insiteful. As if that wasn't enough -- all the songs are instrumentally powerful yet poetically balanced.

Well done MP!
