This review is from: Bower 636980504346 Dual Intelligent Digital Speedlight for Nikon D2X, 200, 3X, 40X, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 5000, 5100, 700, 7000, Digital SLR Cameras - Black (Electronics)
Overall, this is a decent product. However, there are missing information on the product that could really help with customers making decisions on this product.
First of all, the circumference of the opening inside the flash ring is very small. It only fits 55mm lens opening. I had to get several Step Down rings to fit the larger lens. Even then you may or may not get a bit of vignetting around your picture. Most of time I get a circle picture when I zoom back. I used Lithium batteries and the refresh time for the bulbs are very quick. The lights projected are even; however, you need to be fairly close to the subject in order to get any effect of the lighting. The "Dual Intelligent" description is misleading. There's only one little switch that you can flip back and forth between the flash ring and the hot-shoe flash. You can't use both at the same time. That being said, the hot-shoe flash is a good flash for the buy. It has two pivoting joints so that you can point the flash in almost any direction you want which allows you to have more creative fun with your lighting. |
