I guess the Title says it all but here we go:

This flash is probably one of the best buys, out there. The flash power is not excellent like the High end Nikon Speedlights but will still cover most of what you need for every day use and more. Its supports TTL, and the head/flash swivels in all directions which makes for a perfect bounce flash, whether you shoot in landscape or portrait. It's smaller and weighs much less than my $600 SB-910 which I use for work, and I really like the small size/portability and lightweight over my other big/clunky flashes.

Its used on a D600 and if you have a super wide angle this is a must, because with the built it camera flash it always leave a lens shadow in the bottom if this picture. With this lens I can go to 18mm FX on my 18-35mm AFS without a shadow, or 16mm on my big fat 14-24mm!

It charges in 1-3 seconds depending on battery type. After charging the flash does make a faint hissing sound. I tried a second unit and this one did the same. I have a feeling it does not have a "sleep-mode" so I would not leave it on for extended periods without switching it off or you might end up with leaking batteries.

Output is good, lights up normal size rooms even with bounce flash, but does not come with diffuser. Manual says the angles are 28mm on FX or 18mm on DX but it seems it covers a wider angle than the manual states.

One thing I tried and love is a trick: grab a white business card and tilt the flash head/tube upwards until a slot opens up where you can stick the card into between the flashtube and the head. While holding the card in place, continue to swivel the tube all the way up to where its pointing toward the ceiling.

I only took about about 10 pictures before thick smoke and the smell of melting plastic started coming from this flash. Needless to say, I won't be buying this brand of camera accessories again.

Poor overall quality especially the anemic auto-focus illuminator. Battery compartment not easily accessible and never seem to close proper after installing batteries. Auto focus beam very weak and virtually useless.Re-packed flash and immediately requested a refund.

I got this because online sources informed me it would work with the Sigma DP1-merrill camera. THe Sigma camera has not worked with numerous flashes I've tried (all of them cheaper generic or older flashes in my collection). Sigma sells a flash for this camera, but that flash is more expensive and cannot be pointed/tilted.

This Bower flash is more affordable and can be pointed, and as I've found it does work (somewhat) with the Sigma DP1m. However, I've not gotten the TTL to work - I need to shoot in manual mode, with the flash cranking out full power. I think. Maybe. Maybe I'll yet figure out the TTL, and will report back if I do, or when I learn more.

All that said, so far I'm fairly pleased to have found a flash that works on this camera.

I used it for 6 weeks and it stopped working all together. I tried brand new lithium batteries, nothing.
I will never buy this brand again.
Cheap price, cheap product!
Now I have to pay to ship it to Bower under the 1 year manufacture red warranty. When I get it back in 6-8 weeks, I will update my review.
I might get the one Target sells for $59 in their stores to use until I receive my flash back from repair. At least Target gives you 90 days to return items.

Great bang for the buck! I'm using it on a Nikon D3300. The SFD450Nsupports TTL and the head/flash swivels in all directions. Recycling times are fairly quick, exposure (in TTL) are accurate and color rendition is excellent. For $40. how can you not like it? Sure a Nikon Speedlight might be better but, at this price, who cares? Build quality is OK. It works and it's cheap!
