When you hold this set of three books, it feels as if you are holding something precious and rare, and in fact you are. The three books are beautifully illustrated; an introduction to each volume explains that which you are about to read and the verses and text were chosen with care. The books are described as being produced to ". . . delight the senses and enlighten the mind." They easily fulfill that promise.

This really is A Box of Zen featuring three books on the subject of Zen.
The books are: Haiku the Poetry of Zen, Koans the Lessons of Zen, and Sayings the Wisdom of Zen. I purchased this book to better understand the Zen way of life -- part of the culture, wisdom and poetry of Japan. I became interested in this set of books while studying and writing haiku -- a poetic form that complements Zen. The book is beautifully decorated throughout with Oriental art. A little treasure set that I plan to keep in my haiku library.
