5.0 out of 5 stars Great workmansip, fits very well
I perused Amazon.com and saw a lot of plain black leather and foam-looking pouches, so I was really excited when I found the Sienna Leather Elite Case. It is made from this brown leather that has a cool vintage feel to it. I saw a lot of leather cases in the $20-$40 range, so I was a bit hesitant as to how good the quality would be (so cheap for a leather case!) but took...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great casing, but...
Waited for my kindle and this casing to arrive with much excitement. Also ordered the silicone skin for extra protection. The casing is solid and works great just as it says, but unfortunately it wouldn't fit if you have the silicone skin on your kindle too. If only there's a little bit more extra space... 5.0 out of 5 stars Great workmansip, fits very well, September 6, 2009

I perused Amazon.com and saw a lot of plain black leather and foam-looking pouches, so I was really excited when I found the Sienna Leather Elite Case. It is made from this brown leather that has a cool vintage feel to it. I saw a lot of leather cases in the $20-$40 range, so I was a bit hesitant as to how good the quality would be (so cheap for a leather case!) but took a chance with it anyways since it was a great deal. Once I received it, I was really impressed with the workmanship and how well it fit my Kindle device. I have some friends/family that recently purchased the Amazon Kindle, so I'm definitely thinking about stocking up on some of these cases as stocking stuffers and gifts!

5.0 out of 5 stars Instructions to avoid damage missing, otherwise perfect cover, November 8, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: BoxWave Sienna Leather Elite Kindle (2nd Generation) Case (Electronics)
I've been the proud owner of this cover for about a week. It offers good protection and is comfortable to hold, it does not add much weight and seemed like the perfect purchase... until today. I had not taken the Kindle out of the cover since I installed it in the cover, but today I took it out to show a visitor. Since I had read about the plastic hinges on the Boxwave covers breaking earlier, I was very careful, but still the top hinge broke.
In other words, if you intend to leave the Kindle in the cover forever this is a low cost very nice cover. If you will sometime remove the Kindle, purchase a more sturdy one.

Edit: I asked Boxwave for a replacement, which they were happy to send. I was not asked to send in the damaged cover or pay for shipping. I've also looked more closely at the design of the cover, and found that the fault isn't in the design, but in the missing instructions for use.
To remove the Kindle from the cover:
1. Put the cover open on a table.
2. Push the innermost part of the top hinge a few millimeters towards the bottom hinge, depressing some kind of spring.
3. The hook on the top hinge will then be clear of the Kindle, and the Kindle can be removed without damaging the cover.

Since this was my only problem with this cover, my rating has changed to 5 stars, but with 3 stars for ease of use.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great casing, but..., November 4, 2009

Waited for my kindle and this casing to arrive with much excitement. Also ordered the silicone skin for extra protection. The casing is solid and works great just as it says, but unfortunately it wouldn't fit if you have the silicone skin on your kindle too. If only there's a little bit more extra space... Although it looks great with the casing, it's hard to type with both hands. The design of the lock follows the original kindle 2 casing, so it's kinda hard to remove your kindle once you've put it on. So, instead I usually use the silicone skin when I'm at home. It's more practical and I can easily type when I'm reading on my bed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Case at Good Price, February 25, 2010
This review is from: BoxWave Sienna Leather Elite Kindle (2nd Generation) Case (Electronics)
I had purchased this case directly from Boxwave's site. The case is very nice. I had an M-Edge Go cover and wanted to get a 2nd cover as a back up. This cover was a great price and when I received it I was amazed at the quality of the cover. This cover does not have the hinge system which I was happy about that. My Kindle fits securely in the cover. It is nicely padded leather and is lighter in weight than the M-Edge Go cover. It has a vintage look to the leather. It has a strap that closes on the back which I thought was strange at first but I like it because it gives it a clean look. It tucks in when you fold the front around to read and will latch if you want. I am now using this cover as my main cover and would like to purchase the red patent leather one in the near future and pass my M-Edge cover on. I can still use my mighty bright light with the cover as I had with my other cover. I would recommend this case and for the price(15.95) you can't beat it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great value, October 25, 2009

There are plenty of more expensive cases out there for your Kindle. But this one is a great value, it looks great, feels great, doesn't add bulk or weight to the Kindle. The spine is narrow, unlike some other cases that leave room for light attachments, this one is very compact. It keeps my Kindle safe, secure and discreet. Great color and style!

My wife and I both bought Kindles and covers - I bought the BoxCar product, she bought one that cost 6 times as much. Frankly, I see very little difference between the two. The leather in hers is softer and more flexible, but that's not necessarily positive for a device that's meant to protect the kindle from damage during transport. I like the magnetic catch that enables you to close the unit or to fold the front cover behind the kindle and keep it in place - hers doesn't have one. The kindle fits in snugly, and I've had no problems in a month. Great value for the money.

I shopped around a lot for a below $30 leather case (which I think is avg for most leather cases) and ordered this. It isn't a Cole Haan but it looks classic, with a vintage look to it. The price cannot be beaten. I even like the vents in the back.

I did want to purchase a thinner leather (which this isn't) but it sure protects it. I dont have to be uber careful when I'm putting it down.

Good product, Great price!

I have several covers for my Kindle--with and without a hinge, leather and faux leather. All have worked well and and are attractive. This one however, is by far my favorite. It looks professional and holds up well. Because it is much less expensive than others, I was not sure but went ahead and ordered it I have no regrets!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gret deal!, April 2, 2010

I was a little concerned that I would not like it because it was so much less expensive than the other leather covers I considered. The leather is super soft and has that old world vintage look I was going for to contrast the sleek modern kindle. All of the ports are easily accessed and the magnetic snap closure is very secure. I have had the cover for a couple of months now and the kindle has stayed safe and secure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice case., February 17, 2010

I love this case!...That said I only use it when I travel and have to put the Kindle in my overnight bag. For home use, I have a Polycarbonate Hard Shell Case, that while not elegant, serves the purpose.
I adore the way this case looks and I know my Kindle is entirely safe in it. A real bargain too, good craftmanship and very sturdy.
If I'd have to start all over again, I'd buy this case in a heartbeat!
