It was no mere accident that our first meeting with Katrina Prado was at a meeting of The International Women Writers Group. With this latest offering, Ms. Prado is proving herself to be a world-class writer. Good writing from a nice lady.

Exciting Debut Novel,
By Amanda Parker (Alameda, CA) - See all my reviews

I loved this book! The story follows the curve of a woman's courageous transition out of family crisis and dependence to a position of independence and power. Complex, appealing characters and, throughout, passages of great lyrical beauty. A rich and rewarding read.

Bay Area Fun!,
By Judy Elliott (Livermore, CA United States) - See all my reviews

I enjoyed Boxes of Years. Set in Northern California, the author helps you experience the atmosphere of the area. The characters and the story are well developed, with a few surprising turns. One of my favorite parts is a description of how the main character feels about her growing son, and missing the closeness they use to experience. A moment many parents can share. If you are a Danielle Steele fan, you will enjoy this book. The major character is a female who finds resolution in her life, without the high life that Ms. Steele's characters experience.

Maggie could live next door....,
By Karen Crowson (Livermore, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Boxes of Years (Paperback)
Not only do these individuals live in my hometown, they could be real people I know. They're refreshingly ordinary, imperfect souls who are intriguing in their character. What mother hasn't felt the pull between the relationships of children, spouse and parent? The story takes unexpected turns, where outcomes aren't predicably pat. Left me wanting more.

Katrina Prado's Boxes Of Years is the story of Margie Waverly, a thirty-eight year old woman who is haunted by a childhood secret that threatens to rend her household apart. Boxes Of Years is a compellingly written story of regret, and an empowered embarkation upon a healing journey.
