4.0 out of 5 stars Good Basic Guide for Beginners To Boxing
Just like the title implies, this is a good basic guide to boxing for the novice who is interested in boxing. The author gives you a brief amount of information on a lot of different areas concerning boxing and not just on the techniques of boxing, but also on other important areas as well. 2.0 out of 5 stars Wanted more for my money.
I was hoping for more illustrations than what was provided. This book is very basic. It is more of a stretching and diet book than a boxing book.

Just like the title implies, this is a good basic guide to boxing for the novice who is interested in boxing. The author gives you a brief amount of information on a lot of different areas concerning boxing and not just on the techniques of boxing, but also on other important areas as well. The one area that this book is lacking is that there should have been a lot more photographs in this book when it came to describing the various techniques.

However, considering that this is more or less a beginners guide to boxing for the uninformed, it probably is sufficient. However, if you really want to learn some solid boxing skills for the ring and the street, I would highly recommend the following books.

Championship Fighting Explosive Punching and Aggressive Defense

The Straight Lead: The Core of Bruce Lee's Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do

Championship Streetfighting: Boxing As A Martial Art

Savage Science Of Streetfighting: Applying The Lessons Of Championship Boxing To Serious Street Survival
