5.0 out of 5 stars Did you like Nintendo's PunchOut? You'll love this..., November 3, 2001

Boxing Forever is not an original concept the game borrows so much of it's design from the coin-op arcade PunchOut and Super PunchOut that my first impulse was to wish for a port of PunchOut and not a cheap rip-off. But after a few hours play, it turns out Boxing Forever is not a cheap rip-off.

Like the PunchOut series, the game is presented in first person; all you see of you character is his/her gloves. Unlike the PunchOut series, this game really taps into the power the GameBoy Advance hardware. It has short-burst of 3D graphics (such as the intro) and the boxers look much more detailed and larger than any any PunchOut port could do. The game is 2D, but it's designers manage to utilize the power of the system pull of a 3D look, which is done well. The 2-Player link option is also a great must have feature that I don't think could be pulled off on a PunchOut port.

With multiple boxing circuits to fight on, use pattern matching techniques to defeat the computer, and reuse of previous characters on more advanced boxing circuits, the game does borrow a lot from the PunchOut series, but overall it's an incredible game that really proves your Gameboy Advance is capable of a lot more than you old SNES.

5.0 out of 5 stars JUST LOADS OF FUN, October 12, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Boxing Fever (Video Game)
This game is just loads of fun. It reminds of the old Punch Out days in the arcade. The animation is great and the fighters move excellent. The graphics are really good too, the Gameboy Advance is starting to show some impressive capabilities. The first person perspective view is cool. Some of the combos are difficult to pull off but they are possibly with practice and timing. It is also too bad that you cant create your own custom fighter. But that is minor I think there still are other fighters to choose from. This isnt a boxing simulater. Just a fun, him em, knock em down game. The two player mode makes the game even funner. Slug it out with your friend and it will provide many hours of fun beating up your friend and talking smack to him or her. BUY THIS GAME!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Baby I Got The Fever!, June 18, 2002

Man, look at that beautiful intro movie!!! I knew this game would look amasing, I didn't expect it to play even better! The thing that I like is how you develop a strategy to beat the harder opponents. Stick and Move, or stay in there and take it like a man! This game is better than most boxing console games!
