5.0 out of 5 stars Boy Crazy!
When I reached that age (eleven or so) when suddenly boys were on my mind (and how!), this had to be my FAVORITE book! I loved how the girls got to go on a trip to an awesome little boardwalk town, and also that they had such a cool family to baby-sit for, but above all else, Stacey and Mary Anne were (like me) intrigued by cute boys they had just met!

3.0 out of 5 stars Crazy Stacey
This isn't one of the best BSCs in my opinion but it's still cool as they all are.Stacey and Mary Anne are having a great beach vacation as Mothers Helpers for the peculiar Pike Family.I really love the Pikes.Who wouldn't be in that family!!?
Stacey is flirting with an older guy,or 2.

The perfect book for girls just discovering the exciting world of liking boys....My mom even used to call me "boy-crazy Stacey" as a nickname after I read this book! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars This summary will addict you to BSC books...forever, May 11, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Boy-Crazy Stacey (Baby-Sitters Club) (Paperback)
Boy-Crazy Stacey is really one of the best BSC books. Stacey and Mary Anne are mother's helpers for the Pikes for 2 weeks on the Jersey shore. Stacey meets a lifeguard and it's love at first sight for her!!!! But soon Mary Anne gets reeeally mad at Stacey. Will Stacey and Mary Anne survive Sea City? Will Mary Anne forgive Stacey. Does the lifeguard love Stacey. It's a sort of mystery and that's why I like it.

5.0 out of 5 stars You'll never guess what will happen next., January 2, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Boy-Crazy Stacey (Baby-Sitters Club) (Paperback)
This is the first BSC book that I've read. I had a lot of the BSC books but I never read them until one day when I read this. I was hooked onto the BSC series right at the moment. This book is about when Stacey and Mary Anne goes on a dream trip to Sea City, New Jersey during the summer. Of course, there was a catch -- they have to watch the eight Pikes kids! This was supposed to be a two sitter job, but when Stacey falls in 'LUV' with an eighteen years old life guard named Scott, Mary Anne began to do all the work for her. This is a good book because this is when Stacey chooses between boys and baby-sitting. Which did one she choose? Will Scott like her back? Will Mary Anne ever forgive Stacey? There's only one way to find out -- read the book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Luv city, August 15, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Boy-Crazy Stacey (Baby-Sitters Club) (Paperback)
This is definitely my favorite Stacey book.In this book Stacey and Mary-Anne travel as mothers-helpers to Sea City with the Pikes during summer vacation, but, instead of watching the Pike kids, she leaves all the work to Mary-Anne and hangs out with hunky 18 year old lifeguard Scott.Luckily, later on she falls in love with a really cute boy named Toby who is her age. It is a really great book. And Stacey isn't as bad as I made her sound. She is just in love. Read the book if you want totall details. If you are a Stacey fan like me you will love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best ever, August 23, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Boy-Crazy Stacey (Baby-Sitters Club) (Paperback)
This is my favorite BSC book of all time!!!!!!!!!Stacey and Mary Anne go babysitting with the Pikes at the Jersey shore. Stacey falls in love with a lifeguard that is WAY too old for her.She thinks he likes her and Stacey buys him candy in a box shaped like a heart. But then...Read the book and find out. Also if youu want to know what happened next summer at the Jersey shore read Mary Anne and too many boys. Also I did think Stacey was sort of a brat in this book.Stacey was allways my least favorite babysitter. She's allways bragging about how sophisticated she is and how she comes from New York and all that. But if you're like me and don't like Stacey you'll still live this book.I HIGHLY recommend it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Unrealistic but fun, November 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Boy-Crazy Stacey (Baby-Sitters Club) (Paperback)
I used to absolutely LOVE the Baby-sitters Club books. Now that I'm 13 and in eighth grade myself, I realize how unrealistic that book is. Although I enjoyed the book, my teenage perspective gives me new insight. No one I know would think that he liked her. He was 17! If Stacy was as experienced as the books make her out to be, she would have A)realized from the start that she didn't have a chance and B)realized that he didn't like her when all he asked her to do was feed him. Overall, though, I did enjoy the book because she does meet Toby(who was more realistic). Go, Stacy!

5.0 out of 5 stars A review from someone who's been into BSC since 1987!, October 13, 1999
This review is from: Boy-Crazy Stacey (Baby-Sitters Club) (Paperback)
This is a cool book! It reminded me of when me and my family always went to Westport on the Washington state coast every summer because Sea City reminds me a lot of Westport. I read this when I was 12 (I'm 23 now)and still enjoy re-reading it. It's funny. I was 11 when the BSC first came out and I watched everyone go crazy over those books and my younger cousin was bonkers over them (she's 6 yrs younger than me) and she was even crazier about the BSC than I. She got them by mail every week, was in the fan club, got the newsletters and other goodies like bsc mirrors, purses, you name it. And I still enjoy those books and now she's moved on to Goosebumps and Stephen King. Kinda sad, some kids i feel like they grow up too fast. Anyway, about this book, I could identify with Stacey and her broken heart. It was very entertaining and the Pike kids are some well-established characters. Anyway when I was 12 and I read the part where she meets Toby and describes his looks and "cool" clothes, I thought that I'd melt if i met him cause he sounded so cute. Now he sounds like a dork! But it is such a good book!
About Stacey's diabetes, I am not diabetic, but I am a little familiar with the condition. And I don't think Stacey has anything to be ashamed about, which is why I find it odd and unrealistic that her NY friends persecute her for it, and she feels she needs to be all secretive about her chronic illness. Do people normally get persecuted for diabetes? Of course, I, too, suffer from a chronic illness which at one time caused me to miss excessive work days, and my co-workers apparently thought I was a hypochondriac and talked behind my back in my absence...so, could be! I just think that as a young teen, there are other issues such as puberty, etc., which would be more embarrassing and personal than diabetes.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is full of surprises. You HAVE to read it!, December 4, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Boy-Crazy Stacey (Baby-Sitters Club) (Paperback)
Stacey and Mary Anne get to go on a dream trip. The catch? The are working as mother's helpers to the Pike's for two weeks. Lots of exciting things happen. Stacey falls in love with an older boy who is a lifeguard. Mary Anne gets sunburned. They find out Claire adverage at Putt-Putt Golf. And lots more. But Stacey is in a dreamland. She hangs around the lifeguard, Scott, and Mary Anne is getting pretty fed up with her. It semms to Mary Anne, that Stacey is getting paid to drool on a boy. And Mary Anne keeps trying to tell Stacey that Scott is to old. Plus, a boy mother's helper is helping Mary Anne. And they talk alot. Then, something shocking breaks Stacey's heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Who needs baby-sitting when there are boys around!, February 23, 2000
Stacey and Mary Anne are baby-sitting for the Pike family for two weeks at the New Jersey shore. Things are great in Sea City. There's a gorgeous old house, a boardwalk, plenty of sun and sand...and the cutest boy Stacey has ever seen!
