More About the Author

Sean Bugg is the co-publisher of Metro Weekly, Washington, D.C.'s award-winning gay and lesbian newsmagazine. A founding writer for the magazine, his humor column "The Back Room" was an instant sensation with wry, often ribald and always entertaining chronicles of gay life in the big city. Those columns are the foundation of "Boy Does World," a collection of his best humor and commentary for the magazine. Now older and (somewhat) wiser, he lives in the D.C. area with his husband, Cavin Le.

This is not another "I'm gay and this is how I came out of the closet" story, but a fun journey. The journey of a twenty-something with all the sass and sense of being invincible that comes with being young, single, attractive, strong willed, and newly planted in the big city. Yes, there is also the search for love as well as sex and all the clumsiness that comes with both love and sex! The book is witty, funny, yet also poignant. I can honestly say that there is a chapter that deals with cultural differences in a multicultural relationship that I can identify with and insist my own boyfriend should read and take detailed notes on. For that and many other more reasons, I recommend this book.

Boy Does World is a great read, pure enjoyment. It was great to relive my single days through Sean's writing. Highly recommend to everyone looking for a glance into their own past.

The first review (by BeefPho?) was done so well, there is little I can add to it except to say that I'm about a decade older than Sean and would have loved to have had this book handy when I was a youngster entering the big, wide world. I found that his advice easily spans age, gender identification, nationality, etc. -- in other words, there's something in there for everyone. Really good job, Sean. Looking forward to your next book.
