I stummbled upon this book at HK's wan chai district gay bookstore, POV. I have always liked Asian men, esp Chinese men. I think this edition presents the best of HK men to the rest of the world. The settings are credibly Hong Kong, the photography sincere and the men real -- not drop-dead gorgeous, but real men, i.e. those that you truly see in HK's streets. Believe me, HK men are some of the most good-looking men in Asia, and also the most sophisticated and suave. Two thumbs up for Derek, and please feature the rest of Asian men (Taiwan, Singapore, Shanghai and Jiangnan area, Beijing, Korea and Japan) soon! I'll be waiting in earnest!

Derek Lam is a fine photographer and brings to this portfolio the best of the West as far as conceptual ideas and the best of East as far as beautiful models.

The title suggests these might be unremarkable 'boys next door' types, but unless Hong Kong is a lot different from other cities, these men are anything but average! Lam captures a fine ambience in the settings he uses as stage backdrops for these models. There is considerable variety of types of physique and moods in these predominantly lush color photographs. This collection is not the usual beefcake parade but more the natural body form that makes the series of twenty models more accessible to the compositions Lam creates.

For those who collect books of the male physique this is a welcome addition to a group of men less well known to audiences. Recommended. Grady Harp, January 06

This book is a must for all lovers of the Asian male nude. There is something for everyone in this book, thin, beefy, smooth or hairy. Derek states in his introduction that he is trying to present a masculine image of Asian men, and these guys are! Gay or straight, if you like the look of men from Asian, then this must be Hong Kong's finest.

This is a book that I will keep for a long time, the are more than 20 different guys, so there's always something new to discover.

The quality of the book and the printing are very good. Don't be fooled by the listing as paperback, it is a full sized book packed with mostly full color photo's of the sexiest Asian guys I've seen in a long time! And they are all shot outdoors!

This book has something for everyone. 20 of the sexiest guys I've seen in a long time, all shot outdoors. Smooth or hairy they're all there.

Gay or straight, if you like the look of a naked Asian man, this is the book for you. Mostly full color, full page photo's of surf, sea, sand, and oh yes, sexy guys. It's easy to see why China wanted Hong Kong back when you look at these guys.

Don't be put off by the paperback listing, it is a full size book of almost 100 pages. You'll look again and again.

I love oriental hunks, alright. The oriental can be much muscular than that, and still not so much as a bodybuilder. The models in the book are too thin. But if you love young boys with underdeveloped muscle, it's a different story.
