5.0 out of 5 stars A very imaginative and thrilling book
This is a story about a boy who was in bed because he has a fever. To pass the time so he won't be bored, he flies paper airplanes, and with his imagination, he goes on some adventures. The way he uses paper is cool; he uses paper for everything! This book was so good that I went and made paper airplanes after I read it. I recommend this book for ages 8-12.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too violent
Keep in mind, I'm conservative and old fashioned, but so is my young nephew. I ordered this for his 8th birthday and decided to read through part of it before sending it. Glad I did. The first chapters were full of too much war imagery, people getting wounded and shooting guns at each other, and "cool" lippy language. I'm not anti-gun, just didn't think this was...

I'm not anti-gun, just didn't think this was appropriate for an 8-yr old with a very active imagination. I thought the making-stuff-with-paper ideas were great, but otherwise I think the book tried to emulate a trendy video game. Not was I was looking for.

4.0 out of 5 stars a cool book, September 18, 2003
This review is from: The Boy with Paper Wings (Paperback)
My son is nine, with language delays. Despite that, we are 1/2 way through the book. He reads two pages a night, and looks up words he doesn't know. Then I read the next page. He has learned about flight, physics, and enjoyed the adventures without knowing he has learned science. We have had fun laughing at the funny parts, and enjoyed being scared together. This is a wonderful, imaginative book, which I would recommend for any young reader.
