5.0 out of 5 stars "Bike" hits you between the eyes like a velvet hammer!, October 6, 1999
This review is from: The Boy Who Rode His Bike Around The World (Audio CD)
It's exciting to see artists you loved make a successful "comeback," and Steve Barton is in top form on his new record. Lyrically deep, intelligent and hard hitting, the tracks are sonically diverse -- from intense, almost psychedelic string arrangements to thundering guitar/drum rhythms (Cuban Heel Boots), to personal confessions sung in undeniably passionate tones (I Want To Go To Hell With You), to happy pop jangle (Pop Star Shine) -- it's all here. Translator fans, rejoice!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excitingly original and unique., September 29, 1999

Barton has an amazing way with words, with interesting juxtapositions. Close your eyes while listening to any of the songs and you will be carried away to a fantasy/reality probably unlike any previous emotion you've had. He's truly a major composer!
