The music to this soundtrack is beautiful, and is as haunting to the soul as the movie was.

Haunting, Emotional Soundtrack To A PG-13 Holocaust Film.,
By
This review is from: The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (MP3 Download)
Though the word Holocaust is never mentioned nor are the atrocites comitted by the Nazis explicitly stated in the movie, if you even know anything about the period during which the film is set, you know exactly what is being referred to in the motion picture. The score is just haunting and exquisitely beautiful. The penultimate track is especially moving and haunting because of what's occuring on the screen. In a way, this movie is even more heart-wrenching than the excellent and haunting drama "Schindler's List" (which is NOT a put-down). Pity this film was not nominated for any Academy Awards. Buy the soundtrack AND the movie.

As a longtime fan of Horner's film scores, I am naturally interested in this one. Unfortunately, I have not been given the choice of buying a disc or downloading it. Whoever is responsible for this, and I can't think of any reason for it, has started a bad precedent, both for the consumer and the composer. Yes, I know, Horner will cry all the way to the bank, but why, why, why?
