This is my favorite christmas story! I read it every Christmas and hope to share it with my own children when I have them. It's a wonderful Christmas fairy tale!

While this purports to be a Christmas story, it is in fact a veiled commercial for Sea World. God does play into Christmas, as an instrument to fulfill a child's pure wish to meet a whale whom he (surprise surprise!) names Shamu. The artist is an award-winning Sea World poster painter who cannot draw children. The story is drawn out to justify many pictures of Shamu, but ends with a trite tale of a star falling to get kid and Shamu together, which then ends up on the Christmas tree. The Star of Bethlehem becomes the Star of Shamu.
