Absolutely Riveting,
By Rene Geller (New York, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Boy Who Killed Caterpillars (Paperback)
From the first page it was almost impossible to put down. If I hadn't had to work the next day, I would have read right through. Powerful, gripping, and surpassingly original I constantly found myself uncertain whether to laugh or cry. I highly recommend this book. One caveat for parents though--keep this book away from children and young adults(under 17)--it is definitely for mature audiences only.

After finding this accidentally, intrigued, I purchased a copy. The first few chapters were difficult to get into the rhythm of the narrator, but after that little adjustment, the book flew by. I think I read it in about 3 hrs. (which is good beause I have 2 small children distracting me!) I agree - it's for adult audiences only though. It had intresting (and vivid) themes, and an unpredicible end. Which I value - I dislike predictibility.
Good first novel. PW- Ohio.

Page-Turner,
This review is from: The Boy Who Killed Caterpillars (Paperback)
From the very first page this books grabs you and won't let you go.
Written from the perspective of an eight-year-old, the author's voice is strong and realistic. Mysterious, suspenseful and psychologically thought-provoking -- CATERPILLARS is an original piece of fiction that I found to be throughly enjoyable. |
