Book Description

Harlequin Super Romance May 12, 2009

Dealing with unexpected twists isn't new for Hailey Maddox. Despite everything, she's managed to create the perfect life for her daughter. Oh, except for one tiny thing. A ghost from the past in the form of JT McNulty, her first love. When he arrives to attend his mother's funeral, Hailey's not surprised--she's terrified.

After fifteen years of avoiding the truth, she's got no choice but to come clean--to her daughter and to him. And Hailey still has feelings for this man who's literally too good to be true. Will JT ever forgive her for what she's done? Will she ever convince him she'd never hurt him? Well, not again, anyway.

As a special bonus, this eBook-exclusive edition of The Boyfriend's Back comes with a prequel story by Ellen Hartman and a special sneak peek at her next book!

1.0 out of 5 stars if i could give it a 0 i would., December 10, 2009
This review is from: The Boyfriend's Back (Harlequin Super Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Probably one of the worst books I've read in a long time and I've read a lot.

I hated the heroine. She was a compulsive liar and for a huge mistake she made, she let other people take fall for her mistake. I felt so bad for JT. I wanted to scream when he started falling in love with her again. Hello Buddy!, you were head over heels in love with her, she on the other hand didn't really like you and the only reason she even dated you is because she needed a cover so people wouldn't suspect who she really was seeing. She played you for a fool since you didn't know you were being used. Oh and then when she gets pregnant, she convinces you to lie to everyone and tell them that you're her baby's father even though you weren't.

If that's not bad enough, this lie results in you getting kicked out of your home and being deprived of your college fund. You leave town and come back 15 years later and people are still disgusted with you because they think you had abandoned your "child." During this whole time, little miss innocent (Hailey) remains innocent in the eyes of everyone even though she has continued to lie to everyone including her own child for 15 years. Her excuse is that she didn't think it would hurt anyone to continue to lie and she felt it was better for her daughter not to know who her real father was...selfish much?. I have never felt such a distaste towards a heroine as I do her. I'll probably never read another book by Ellen Hartman. This one sucked that much!

I loved the heroine - and this book really worked for me. Lots of drama - lots of growth. If you like your heroines complicated - this is a great book for you!
