4.0 out of 5 stars The Busboys are Back in Town!
The Busboys have a new album! Wow was I surprised to see these guys back together with their latest release, "Boys Are Back In Town". If you have followed these guys like I have since 1980, then you will love the classic Busboys sound on this CD. You get 11 new tracks as well as the two songs "The Boys Are Back In Town" and "New Shoes"...

2.0 out of 5 stars Beware
On this cd, "The Boys Are Back In Town" is a rerecording. This is not the original song that you hear in the movie "Another 48 Hrs.". This version is not too bad but the original is the one that rocks. The weird thing about this song is that the soundtrack from "Another 48 Hrs." doesn't even have the Bus Boys version on it. What a Night... I have had the Honor of seeing the Bus Boys Live. Even before their Music Starred in the Movies! In the 80's and NOW they are the Best! In the Mountians of NM in a place called the Golden Inn in Golden NM. In the middle of one show sitting at the table next to ours sat Willie,Waylon,& Jessie. They had drove up from Texas to see the show that they had been hearing so much about. Way To Go Guys. I recommend that everone should own some of the Bus Boys Music! And if you ever get the chance to see them LIVE do it!!!! In Peace, Maggi

5.0 out of 5 stars The Boys Are Back, April 17, 2001

I don't care if this version of The Boys Are Back In Town is a re-recording. It sounds just like the original! Given the fact that I have been waiting 18 years to buy ANY version of this song I am thrilled to have it. I have been looking for the original version but have never been able to find it. I checked out ... and found out that there was NEVER a soundtrack album to the movie "48 Hrs" so that is why the song was never available. Stupid HOLLYWOOD Idiots! How can you not release such a great song and the song that launced Eddie Murhpy? New Shoes (from the movie is also on this record) and the new songs are great too. They have matured and so has their songwriting. The other reviewer is crazy, you shoud BEWARE of NOTHING. This record has balls.

It has a sad version by jesse johnson, and I mean sad.

The best songs on the album are "Comeback", "Rockin'& Rollin' In Lodi", "Don"t Let Go" (This is the old song by Issac Hayes) and "Ain't Thru Rockin'". There is also a bonus song on this cd that is real hard to find. It is a good song too, but I can't think of the name of it right now. It starts about one minute and 43 seconds after the last song on the cd ends. There is a total blank for 1 min. & 43 secs. and then the song wil start up. The song is about 4 minutes long. You will know it because when the last song ends the cd does not end.

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother, January 31, 2002

The original version of "The Boys Are Back In Town" is on the CD "VH-1: The Big 80's The Big Movies [SOUNDTRACK]". Well worth buying that one and the original version is, of course, a total rush! Buying a remake with the original available is a waste of time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Rock'n Roll with heart and sweat, August 13, 2005
This review is from: (Boys Are) Back in Town (Audio CD)
My first contact with Busboys was in the movie 48h with Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte. A fantastic scene when EM visited a bar. NN represented a racial minority the least to say. During this whole scene was the Busboys music playing, "The boys are back in town". Their frenetic energy with real good rock'n roll lifted the intensed atmosphere. I decided then to buy the record. I was not disappointed.

I felt the band The Bus Boys were Kickin' It appeared to me that Eddie Murphy probably got them the gig as it fit his character perfectly. I am STILL not sure why these guys didn't go from busing tables to the Big Time Musically??

When I heard a clip from the *Bus Boys* cd I was hooked. Doing DJ music for parties, this cd fits right in,,,,BUT play it first as the numbering sequence of the songs is off....

I bought 2 CDs of The Bus Boys and returned one for a refund. After the seconmd arrived, it also was useless. Very poor quality. It deserves a O for a rating.
