Britney Hits the Mark Again!,
By
This review is from: Boys (Audio CD)
With her evolution from her teens to her young adult years, Britney Spears continues to prove that just like Madonna, she is able to change with the times. With the release of her much maturer "Britney" album, Britney has given her audience a taste of her sultry side. "Boys," which was released on the soundtrack to "Austin Powers in Goldmember" definitely is one of the year's hippest songs. For the first time Britney delves into a little R&B with the help of Pharrell Williams of the group N.E.R.D. to produce a track that not only will appeal to Britney's fanbase, but to those into urban music. Unlike singers like Mariah Carey who have slaughtered most of their songs with heavy rap and hip-hop, Britney gives us a small dosage and carries the track with her voice. While the original version of the song is good, I really enjoyed the "Co-Ed" remixes found on this single and also on the Austin Powers soundtrack. "Boys" is a single that truly shows that Britney is going to surprise her audiences with great musical collaborations and her usual style throughout the years. Great beat and great lyrics arethe highlights of this great single. The video for the song is also a treat (it has cameos by Mike Myers and DJ Qualls of the film "The New Guy") and can be found on the DVD release of the "Austin Powers in Goldmember" film. Check it out and this single as well. Britney hits gold again!

Get Nasty!,
By
This review is from: Boys (Audio CD)
This is one of Britney's most recent steps towards music with a more hip-hop influenced edge. Whether hip-hop will embrace her remains to be unseen, but if this single is any notion to what we can expect, I'll be embracing her with arms wide open. This song is HOT!! I've always loved the album version which appeared on her third self titled cd Britney, but the co-ed remix makes it sizzle. Featured on the track is Pharrell Williams from N.E.R.D. (aka The Neptunes) who adds something quite new to Britney's music. Making the song more funky and more mature, the co-ed remix is a great song to get up and dance to. I would recommend everyone buy this single. If not for the new remixed single, get it for the album version which still remains to be one of Britney's best songs. The single would have been better with the awesome video included, but I'm still hoping a DVD with all of Britney's videos including Boys will be released sometime soon.

This song is really great and the video is one pf Britney's best yet. I liked the orignial Boys and was so dissappointed when I heard they were putting a remix version out. But then I heard the Co-Ed remix and loved it. I especcially love Pharrell's parts. The movie AP3, is also funny and features 2 great cameos from Britney!!!

It Is Safe to Buy This Single.,

Yes, it's Britney, and, yes, her last album wasn't very good, but it at least had two dynamite tracks: "I'm a Slave 4 U" and "Boys." Produced by the Neptunes, these guys take the Prince-flavored hip hop jam and give it a welcome remix that sounds just as good. Britney's still isn't much of a singer, but with a groove this tight, it hardly matters. "Boys" is a qualified guilty pleasure. Close the door, crank up the stereo, and indulge.

One of My Favorite Singles,

Someone tried to quote Britney in the line "What would it take for you to just SLEEP with me?" In reality, she says "What would it take for you to just LEAVE with me?" Get it right people. This single is very edgy and the album version and co-ed remix version are both fanastic. The beats and rythme is right on and definitely attracts your attention. The video was also amazing; one of my personal favorites. There's a reason why Britney has been so long; she is the epitome of longevity... It's not just luck!

WORST single ever released.,
By Donna Hayford (???) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Boys (Audio CD)
I don't see why anyone would want to spend twelve dollars--about the price you can get for a normal CD at Best Buy--on this peice of trash. Singles are a waste of money. People that buy singles are the kind that just aren't patient enough to wait for the artists' album to come out (and "Britney" came out 2 years ago so I don't know why you'd want to waste money on a song when you can get an her actual album with this and 11 other songs). Now to get onto the content of this CD, I think that this song just fits the definition of 'nasty'. That "Get nasty!" thing is wrong, and Britney cannot do it right. It doesn't sound right. It sounds like some perverted girl wanting to just touch a guy ("What would it take for you to just sleep with me?"). The chorus for this song is: "Boys!/ Sometimes a girl just needs one (I get nasty) / Boys! / To love her and to hold (I get nasty)/Boys! /And when a girl is with one (I get nasty)/Boys!/Then she's in control!!!" Basically all the songs on this single are almost exactly the same, except the one with Pharrell in it. Every now and then he comes in saying "C'mon girl" or "Girls!" This is far by the worst single Britney Spears has ever released.

Boys ~ Britney Spears,

This is a very sexy tune from one of the best female artists out there. Britney sings with conviction and her vocals are great. The lyrics are sexy without being nasty and she manages to pull this off without it sounding forced or trite. I love the picture on the front and she is sure sexy.
