My son received this for xmas and it's really terrific. Tons of interesting subjects to choose from and surely enough variety to spark any imagination. The only thing wrong with this book is the binding. It is glued at the spine and doesn't lie flat enough for drawing in. I didn't give this to my son immediately for that reason because it would have frustrated him. What I did, however, was take the book to a local copyshop and had them slice off the existing binding and instead spiral bind the entire book. Now it's perfect because it lies completely flat. It cost a few dollars for the spiral binding but it's totally worth it.

This is a great book, but it really needs to have a spiral binding for easier drawing. I will be taking it somewhere to have it spiral bound. It was bigger than I thought it would be.

This was actually purchased as a gift for our neighbors 6yr old son but we read through it before giving it and it's such a fun and FUNNY book! The illustrations are great and I just love open ended coloring books in general. This one adds the element of humor to it, which is great...almost a bit like a comic book. I know the receiver of this loves it too as he shows us the book often when we see him and went through most of it almost as soon as he got it. That might be my one criticism...that I wish it were longer BUT the nice thing about it is that even though he has completed most pages, he still pulls it out to look at it and show it off, like a real book he created himself. This is a GREAT gift!

By the way, while much of the themes are "boyish" this by no means is for boys only. My 5yr old daughter wanted one for herself!

My son is five and got this as a Christmas gift. I hid it from him until a long car trip presented itself. This book is filled with great drawing prompts! My son had so much fun and it kept him very occupied. I now have several other ones on his wish list.

My 7 year old son got this for Christmas from grandma, and he absolutely loves it! My 10 year old son and husband got hooked too. They have pages with castles, dragons, robots, trucks, animals, etc., so there's plenty of variety. The idea is that they give you the start of a picture -- like tires -- and then you draw a monster truck. It was a great thing to keep the kids occupied in a quiet activity while visiting grandparents and would work well on a long plane ride, too.

This is an awesome drawing book for children who have a hard time coming up with ideas on what to draw. My son likes drawing but sometimes get frustrated coming up with ideas on what to draw. Each page of this book provides the beginning of a scenario/concept and allows the child to complete the picture using their imagination. I highly recommend it if your child needs a little inspiration to get them drawing.

Both my son (10) and daughter (13) Loved this book. Very creative and interesting. This one, Ooodles of Doodles, and the Halloween Doodles books are high recommends from both me and my children, but this one is the best of the three in my opinion. Very Impressed. Hours of fun, amusing illustrations, suitable for a boy or girl, great as gifts. You will not be sorry with this purchase!

My kids enjoy sitting down and finding a page to complete. Super fun and creative!

My son thought this looked great. Still, I didn't know if it was something he truly would end up working on. We purchased it yesterday. In the car, he asked if we had a pencil. He immediately began finding pages he wanted to fill in. The subjects were perfect for him. It gives the child prompts for subject ideasl. However, because the drawing is partially started, it also gives them stylistic drawing ideas that they might use to help them complete the drawing, thus increasing their awareness of drawing approaches to shape and line and texture. After excitedly completing several drawings he exclaimed, Look! page one is design your own robot! We all laughed as robots are his absolute favorite thing to draw and design. Anyway, he started drawing yesterday and hasn't stopped. He woke up this morning and continued. I think he has a good portion of the book finished. I can't think of any downside of this purchase, worth every cent for us!

This is such a fun book for children to have! I purchased it for my 10 year old grandson and he loved it. It had many skills involved in it as well as fun to see the finished product.
