Book Description

July 1, 2008
Planet Nerak was perfect no disease, no darkness, no hunger until an expedition to Earth brought back an unwanted guest. Enter one talented Nerakian named Lara, sent on a special fact-finding mission in the vast region called Texas. Fortunately, a warrior (he calls himself a "cop") named Sam Jones has offered to help. Unfortunately, Sam's skill at sex is quite distracting - as are plenty other earthly delights, like the dangerously addictive substance called chocolate. Temptations such as these could seriously compromise Lara's - ahem - research . .

Crazy, that's what Sam is. What sane man would voluntarily isolate himself in the Texas woods with an alien, not to mention a female one with a superiority complex, legs that won't quit, and a penchant for walking around buck naked? Between bragging about her home planet and levitating, Lara wastes no time getting on Sam's last nerve . . and even less time getting into his bed. Talk about going where no man has gone before. Of course, when you're from Texas, nothing - not even an entire planet - is going to stop you from getting what you want.

More About the Author

Rosemary Rodgers hooked me on romance with 'Sweet Savage Love'. I consumed books after that until I decided I wanted to try my hand at writing. Not as easy as it looks! But I'd found my niche. I instinctively knew this is what I wanted to do.

Luckily, I'm married to a wonderful man who gives me 100% support in anything I want to try. He not only told me to go for my dream, but he encouraged me not to give up.

And the dream did become reality. Wow! I still have to pinch myself. I love being an author!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot, Spicy, Humor, June 24, 2008
This review is from: The Bad Boys Guide to the Galaxy (Planet Nerak, Book 3) (Paperback)
This is Karen's third book in her Alien series, but it also can be read as a stand alone. Although if you have not read any in this series you have missed a real treat. Karen has given the reader a hot, fantastic read, but with her trademark humor shining through.

Sam Jones, a cop, was headed for a well deserved holiday with nothing but rest and relaxation, at his cabin in East Texas or so he thought. The best laid plans can go astray as he is about to find out when he stops at his partner's apartment first.

Lara, a healer from the planet Nerak and a sister to Kia, Sam's partner Nick's wife lands on the roof of the apartment block in her craft. This alien had come to do research for plants that would heal one of the Elder's. Plants that could not be found in the City, but Sam was headed for the country so it would be no problem for her to go with him.

Now the fun begins, Lara has never been off the planet Nerak, so many new things are encountered and must be tried in the name of research . She was beautiful and rankled Sam to no end with her haughty attitude. How could you want to kiss her, comfort her and kill her all at the same time. Now if she would only keep her clothes on, how was a man to resist her. The antics that follow will have the reader laughing out loud, with each introduction to new things - chocolate, sex, alcohol, and did we mention sex. We also find out that there are more aliens in the area, and the story takes an unforeseen twist - where aliens are involved one should always expect the unexpected.

Karen has put together an fantastic read. It has scenes so hot that it scorches the pages, so funny that you laugh out loud, unexpected turns with interplanetary travel and the planet Nerak. I would recommend this read to anyone, and am eagerly looking forward to the next book to see where this talented author is taking us. If you have not read the first two books, Close Encounters of the Sexy Kind and Cosmic Sex then you have missed two other great reads and will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful story, October 27, 2008
This review is from: The Bad Boys Guide to the Galaxy (Planet Nerak, Book 3) (Paperback)
Lara, the highly regarded healer from Nerak, comes to Earth to find a medicine for one of the Nerakian Elders, who is ill from an earthling sickness. When she visits her sister Kia, she mets the cop, Sam Jones. He is on his way to a much needed vacation or so he thought, because Lara decides to join him. He can help her with her search for the plant. Everything would be perfect if her stubbornness and her opinion that Nerakians are the superior beings wouldn't drive Sam crazy.

Ms. Kelley is a very gifted author, who knows how to combine hot spicy elements with her unique kind of humor and the result is a story like no other you have ever read before.

We've already met Sam, the hero, in COSMIC SEX, where he was already an intriguing secondary character, but now in his own story, he is absolutely to die for.
Lara's uppity and how she treats Sam will sometimes make you want to wring her neck, but in the end she makes it up with her funny way of discovering the delights of the life on earth, like chocolate or sex.

The book gives the reader a first real view of the life on Nerak and introduces new characters, which I guess will play an important role in the upcoming books of the Planet Nerak series. Ms. Kelley really knows how to keep her readers more curious about how the series continues.

THE BAD BOYS GUIDE TO THE GALAXY is the third book in Karen Kelley's alien series. The book can be read as a stand-alone, but I can tell you that you will pick up the first two books if you haven't read them. The books are addictive.

So if you are looking for a funny and sexy book to brighten up your day, THE BAD BOYS GUIDE TO THE GALAXY is the perfect book for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars A delight, August 6, 2008
By
Judy "book reader" (Cincinnati, ohio United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Bad Boys Guide to the Galaxy (Planet Nerak, Book 3) (Paperback)
The Bad Boys Guide To The Galaxy is another fun and romantic story from Karen Kelley.

Lara a highly regarded healer from the planet Nerak, comes to Earth after one of the Elders becomes sick. When earthlings snuck back to Nerak after the last expedition they brought back an illness. Lara must enlist the help of local cop Sam Jones to search for healing plants.

Sam Jones just wants a must needed vacation. When his partner Nick asks for his help with is girlfriend's sister he can't refuse. Sam thought he was prepared for another alien woman but there is something about Lara that pulls him into her world. It doesn't hurt that Lara likes to run around naked.

Lara and Sam are total opposites that are out of this world sexy and wickedly funny.

Karen Kelley has created some of the funniest books on any planet.
