haven't had time to really get into this, but it gives an excellent idea of what it was like to be a boy miner in the Nova Scotia mines. I had a great, great grand uncle who was one of these boys, Donald Archibald McDonald, and who died from being crushed between carts at the mines in Nova Scotia, so the book is especially interesting to me in my family research.
