This song is a total ear worm. "I know better not to be friends with boys with girlfriends, oh, I know better than that, I know better!" and don't we all? The songs moral center -- not so awesome (she does spend the night at a hotel with the boy with the girlfriend) but it's super catchy and fun to listen to.

Pleasent Enough, If Not Strangely Familiar,

Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Colbie Caillat all have taken over radio with their brand of female-styled coffeehouse pop, and while they're mostly horrid sans one-hit, record companies have clearly taken notice. Well the antichrist, otherwise known as Tom of MySpace fame, clearly likes this type of music so he's helped launched another artist in the form of Meiko. She seems nice enough, but is there enough substance to keep you tuning in?
Well, that depends. She's Sara without the piano, Ingrid who is more studio-produced, and thankfully she's without the annoyance of Colbie. It's radio-friendly all the way, aiming to please with a pleasant melodies, and street-cred with the indies by using abstract lyrics. These lyrics are probably the highlight of the song because they're neither sappy, they're a bit original, and again, they aim to please. So, if you love the above-mentioned wave of female coffeehouse pop, then by all means, buy the song all the way. It's pleasant enough for the radio, and I wouldn't be surprised if it found some minor chart success. I'll just be pondering the question of what happened to Tom's unhealthy obsession with Emo-fest Dashboard Confessional?
