If you're a Jeff Dunham fan this is a must see. I had no idea Jeff made his own puppets. This show explains how he does it. It shows how he got started and problems he has run into during his career.

I only saw Latifah's "Behind the Music" episode once. I kept wondering how this show was different from that one. One thing I can say is that BtM focuses more on tragedy, and Latifah's brother's death isn't emphasized here.

This work is a bit gushy, but I can run with that because Latifah has become a Mistress of All Trades. I'm blown away by her and I think many in the US are too. Nevertheless, this work said her talk show was not a success. That surprised me as I liked it when I saw it, and so did my senior-citizen father. I thought the show ended because she chose to work on other projects. It also mentions that not all her films have been hits. Well, no one's perfect.

The work is very diverse in terms of its interviewees. There are women and Blacks, but I think the majority of speakers were white males. I'm assuming there was a lot of sexual orientation diversity among those interviewees as well. My Spidey sense says the unseen narrator was an African-American male. This work had a lot of clips from 2003 in what I assume came from "20/20". I've seen more photos of her father in the past and this showed her mother being interviewed and seen more often.

I also liked the way this work dealt with Latifah's sexual identity as compared to BtM. On BtM, Latifah said something like, "I acted in 'Set It Off' and now they think I'm a fruit loop or something." I didn't like the comment and that epithet is not one directed towards women, so I saw it as a red herring. This work says she deals with the sexuality issue well. I can buy that. It's great that this work never says she's not what huge numbers of people, including her most ardent fans, assume she is. They don't touch the issues of her not being married or a mother either.

I was blown away at how revealing this documentary was. I haven't read his book, but I would say this gave a really good backdrop and insight into what the book reveals about the life of Steve-O. Very well done documentary.

The recent death of singer Jerry Vale calls to mind his being a pall-bearer in 1998 for his friend Frank Sinatra. No mention of Sinatra can ever be made without mentioning his leadership role in "The Rat Pack." That is also the title of an oh-so marvelous two-part Biography retrospective of the last time in America when being talented also had cool in the equation. Danny Aiello's intense yet low-key narration holds together well the panoply of memories. Standing out among the stories about the Pack members are the life influence on Sinatra by Atlantic City bigshot Skinny D'Amato, the rise and fall of Dean Martin's partnership with Jerry Lewis and how it led to Las Vegas, and how much Peter Lawford's Kennedy inlaws relied on him to put across effectively Jack K. as Presidential material. Lewis, Tony Curtis, Janet Leigh, singers Keely Smith and Sonny King plus other Pack contemporaries help paid a vivid picture of the Pack's influence on American culture. Couple this Biography package with Shawn Levy's volume "Rat Pack Confidential" and you will have an informative combination.

I have been a fan of Donnie and Mark Wahlberg since the early 90`s when they started their music careers. I enjoyed learning about how they both GOT started, challenges along the way and how they were both able to reinvent themselves as actors. Very informative and well done.
