5.0 out of 5 stars Great charger and holder
I had seen this unit in my friend's car and really liked it. I got it for my BMW 3 series. Initially it seemed that the cigarette lighter socket was too close to the gear shift and that the bracket would not be able to fit in. But this unit has a couple of swivel options and I was able to configure it in such a way that it faced away from the gear box. The other reviewer...

3.0 out of 5 stars Could not adjust it enough
I have a 2002 Kia Sportage with a manual transmission and i keep slapping into it every time i switch into fifth gear. I wish it had a few more adjustment options... then again, if I didn't have that problem, I would be very happy with it.. Make sure, if you have a manual car, that your cigarette lighter isn't too close to the gear shift.

The other reviewer mentioned that his unit does not stay in the socket. There is a wheel that can be adjusted so that the device stays in place. My unit has not moved once since I attached it to my lighter socket. I have been on rough roads where the car was shaking, but the unit stayed put.

All in all I am very pleased with this unit and would recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job..., November 12, 2010
This review is from: Bracketron IPM-197-BL PowerDock Dual Auxiliary USB Power Mount with Grip-iT for GPS (Electronics)
I saw this the other day and thought it was a fantastic idea...

I picked it up earlier today and put it in... With a few adjustments it's working perfect.I see a one or two have made an issue of it coming out of the socket. There is a dial on the plug, turn it clockwise, and it will expand the metal bands, and stay put. I turned it while it was not plugged in, turned the knob until it wouldn't go in the lighter socket, backed it off a turn and put it in, then gave about a quarter turn to snug it better. My only real issue with it thus far is how low it sits. It's hard for me to hear my phone when it rings, I had it placed higher on the dash prior to this device, so I would notice it ringing...

Drivers, I put this in an 06 Century Classic. ( See Photo ) I haven't had an issue with putting the truck in reverse, which I thought I might after I put it in, but it's out of the way. I have noticed, moving back to the bunk, my knee hits it, so I will have to take more care now... I've driven the Cascadia, and Kenworth T600... I don't recall where the ligther is in those, but I do recall there are two power points in the Cascadia, so placement may be easier... Pilot Points, didn't cost me a dime.

4.0 out of 5 stars a useful tool, August 17, 2011

I found this item here, which is much cheaper than the ones in other places. I got a good deal. It's a very useful tool. It does not fit all the vehicles due to the position of car's cigarette charger.

This thing is awesome... Not only does it hold my phone securely, it allows me to charge multiple devices and I can contort it almost anyway I need in order to make the space around it accessible...
One of the best purchases I have ever made...

Very well built but in my VW Jetta it shakes (bounces) a bit. Maybe they all do, this is my first one I have owned. I do like it because I can use my iPhone and my wife can use her HTC.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good cell phone holder for the price, January 28, 2012

Works well. It is not 100% stable as it mounts in the cigarette lighter adapter plug, but it does its intended purpose. The release mechanism work as intended. I use the for my Galaxy Nexus with no problem. I would recommend to any one looking for a good car cell phone mount.

This handy gagget will hold our 5" GPS. Because it will twist & turn, you can arrange it very easily. We received 2 other mount options with our GPS, however this is the option that we choose to use. Because it goes directly into the cigarette lighter, you never have to worry about it running out of a charge. What a handy gagget this has been

I have a F150 column shift truck and it fits and works. Owned it about one month. The USB
and extta power plug are great. I use the usb to charge my bluetooth along with the phone auto charger in the power port. Extra power plugs is a good thimg. OH, it matches the black leather interior of the truck and looks noce, I'd send a picture but it freezing and early morning.

1.0 out of 5 stars Charging? Nope..., August 31, 2010
This review is from: Bracketron IPM-197-BL PowerDock Dual Auxiliary USB Power Mount with Grip-iT for GPS (Electronics)
I bought this item because I liked the concept...could hold my cell phone or ipod and charge at the same time. This unit holds the phone fine. When I initially plugged it in, you see the blue light indicating that it is getting power. But the second that I attempt to plug in my phone's charging cable, the light went out and I could never get any power to the Bracketron. I figured that it was defective so I contacted the store that I bought it from and they sent me another one. And had the SAME problem with that one too! I bought this to both hold my phone and charge my phone. Only being able to do one of those two tasks? FAIL.
