I first purchased a more common windshield-mounted phone bracket but discovered that my Honda Odyssey's windshield was sloped at too much of an angle. As a result, if I wanted the bracket to be just above my dashboard the suction cup was practically all the way to the front of my window and the phone was at least 12 inches behind the edge of my dashboard "far away". I couldn't comfortably reach my smart phone to use the touch screen. I also didn't want to mount the phone high up by the rear view mirror since I often plug my phone in for charging and the cord would have hung all the way down. Basically, my car's windshield slope made a suction cup mount unusable.

Then I found this cup holder mount and I'm back in business. My car has the usual cup holders between the two front seats down at seat level plus it has two more smaller cup holders that slide out of a drawer just below my radio. I placed the cup holder mount in one of the drawer cup holes and now my phone is right at my radio's level. Not bad. Plus, the cup holder mount is so quick and easy that you could quickly loosen it and take it to your spouse's or friend's car if you wanted. Finally, this mount will not lose its suction and fall off your windshield and break your phone since the cup insert expands mechanically until it's tightly secured. My wife's windshield mount in her car has fallen off the windshield twice in the past month but this cup holder won't budge unless I want it to budge.

I'm never using a windshield mount again!

Very sturdy mount. The 4 instead of 5 stars are because of the neck being too short, and the piece that your phone clamps into rotates too easily and pops off the mounting arm too easily. If you don't fiddle with your device alot while driving the latter will not be a concern. Overall I'm happy with this mount. It has fit very snugly into every( about 4 now ) cup holder I've tried.

I have found this very useful in the car for phones and GPS when I travel or use another car. It fits several types of cup holders securely and is very adjustable for different items. It also has a quick release when you get out of car. All in all, I bought a second one for a friend because it worked so well.

Just a tip for those of you with oddly large cup holders: Wrap the end of the adapter that goes in the cup holder with good old duct tape. Or, if need be, put the duct tape around the inside of the cup holder. End of story.

I have two of these and like them. Great price, works well with DROID. Today the flexible portion snapped at the bottom during normal operation. Still like the product at the price and might purchase another.

Let me start saying that this mount has a great quality plastic considering the price. It's very solid built and does not have excess cutouts on edges. The flex neck is really strong and flexibility is good. But the mail advantage of this mount compared to win shield mounts is that your phone gets to stay in shade and DOES NOT OVERHEAT!!!. Specially during summer time when phone is on win shield it gets really hot and not only it can damage your phone for good but also lots of people don't realize that the battery won't take charge anymore because the temperature sensor would prevent the phone from charging to let it cool down. Plus it's a lot more handy when you have your phone closer to you so if you need to run different applications and do other stuff you don't have to lean forward.

Some people mentioned that the neck is too short but I find the neck length just the right size. I think if it was any longer than this the phone would voluble too much . It worked perfectly fine in my car unless the cup holder is extremely deep the neck size is just fine.

I use it in a 2001 Saturn SL and I found it to be great solution and been really happy with this mount. I DO RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

Really happy with the base, but the expandable unit that holds the device is worthless. After pressing the button to expand the arms twice, the unit stopped working, Very cheap construction. If you got one that works, good for you, if not, then beware. Would not purchase again.

This holder is definitely a must have. It will adjust to fit in practically any and I mean any cup holder. It installs very easily and is a snap to close and secure your device. You can also release your device easily by pressing the side button. This holder transfers easily from my car where it holds my Blackberry and I-Pod to my golf cart where it holds my GPS. Like I said, it's a must have. Go out and get one, it's well worth the price. The side bars on this holder also slides up and down to allow you to charge your device while it's sitting in the holder. You can easily access the side ports of your device sliding the side bars up or down.
