Product Description

Learn My Name is a silly, cute, & rewarding teaching tool for toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarteners. I made this game to help my daughter and son learn to spell their names and recognize them in print. The cute kids bounce around the screen and you can fling them into each other. When you touch them you will hear the letter they represent. Drag them to the floating letter to match them up & get them to dance. We have an ABCs mode to practice letters.

The Learn Words mode features 100 special key words, these words represent over 50% of the words found in both children's and adult literature. Based on the Early Reading Research work of Dr. Jonathan Solity & Janet Vousden At Warwick University these 100 words cover 61 phonic skills and enable children to read faster and in a more self directed fashion. Apps that feature the common C is for Cat and A is for Apple help with recognition of Cats and Apples however we don't feel that it helps them learn to read. These words help your child learn to read.

Our 4 year old son Elijah, who has been fighting cancer for over a year, is the voice in the game. The app features original music by gold record composer Jeff Sullivan

Click the yellow arrow to the right of the names and replace the example ones with your own.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute app for toddlers March 16, 2012
Our 2 year old loves "catching" the little figures and manages to spell with them. You can enter your own names or words or spell a bunch of built-in ones. Cute sounds and voices!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic and adorable! March 15, 2012
This app is just precious. A highly creative way to teach kids how to spell their name and learn their letters! As an educator I was pleased to see that the words come from the Dolch word list. This would be a great tool for young learners in a classroom as well!

5.0 out of 5 stars SO VERY CUTE! March 14, 2012

Awe! This is so very cute! The way the child speaks in this app is sure to inspire my daughter. She loves to use Kindle apps to learn and this is sure to be a favorite. I recently spent $5 for an app that was supposed to help her learn to spell her name, and it was awful! This app is great for teaching children their name, letters & words.

There's no enter key on the kindle virtual keyboard when this app is open. I hope they fix it soon my daughter would enjoy it if I could enter her name on the kindle fire.

3.0 out of 5 stars updated review September 3, 2012

It was only $.99, there are 4 names listed that a child can learn. There is way to enter you child's name so your child can learn to spell their own name. I had to try several times before that would work so keep trying. It does not actually say the child's name so you may want to erase the other names in order for your child to recognize their name and learn the right one. On the whole, it is boring to a child over 3 or 4 so use it early on if you download it.
