Bradley BCOLD Smoker Cold Smoke Adapter

Cold smoker is a Bradley attachment that takes the place of cardboard boxes and many other configurations set up by Bradley Smoker users. Box is made from heavy steel and has convenient door for water tray. Connects well without much leaking to generator and cabinet. Included is a resistor that allows the generator to be disconnected from the cabinet when using the digital model. The hose (duct) could be a bit heavier. It is pretty fragile but does bend without any problem. You just need to be careful while bending or you'll kink it. Does not appear to be standard dryer vent hose. It's about 1/4" bigger to accommodate the end plates. I would give it five stars with a better duct.

I don't know what some people expect for this price.. I was contemplating about building a box to put on top of the bradley so I could do some cold smoking but I would still get some heat from the original smoker.. Enter this attachment. It is not industrial grade but it does a great job. I placed the Bradley smoker box above this unit, connected the cold smoker and wallah.. I I got cold smoking.. I' smoking homemade Andouille sausages and wanted the cold smoking.. I will try doing home cured salmon next. Unless you want to spend a lot of money on an indestrial cold smoker or build one, get this unit.

Love it. In Hawaii it is virtually impossible to cold smoke in a conventional smoker due to ambient temperature being in the 80's on average. This item solves the problem. Just love it. And I apologize to those of you who live in the North.

The unit works really well. my only complaint is one of the door hinges was not attached to the door, only the body of the unit. I had to pop rivet the hinge.

I would have given this item 4 stars, however the hose that shipped with the adapter fell apart when I took it out of the box. After looking at other reviews about this product, it seems as though this is and has been an on-going problem. I ended up buying a dryer hose so I could get it up and running. I later called Bradley about this issue; They have GREAT customer service and they shipped me a new hose without cost, of course. Bradley has quality products so I was very surprised that the hose is worthless.

This is a good addition to a pig cooker. I have had to in the past, placed a small charcoal grill in the bottom of my pig cooker to add smoke chips. This is a much cleaner alternative. I did find that the flex hose is well constructed, making 90° turns with no problem. The only areas of improvement are as follows: 1. Provide a magnet gasket between the round hose adapter (the round metal disk ) and the cold smoker box. This will provide a better seal. 2. In my case, when I cut a 5" hole in the side of my pig cooker, I was in need of a plate to cover the hole, in case I wanted to cook without the use of smoke. Now I have a large hole in the side of my smoker. It wouldn't take much effort for the manufacturer to provide the same square adapter plate (that is at the other end of the hose) without a hole in it to provide a means of sealing up the 5" hole. When you install the two brass button knobs to hang the square adapter plate on the item you are making into a smoker (in my case, the pig cooker), it is hard to duplicate the factory punch out holes in a make shift plate to cover the hole. 3. Provide some type of small, low volume fan to better move the smoke from the cold box to you cooking area.

Unfortunately, due to lack of system considerations,

the Cold Smoke Adapter as it is now, is not an acceptable product yet.

In order to set up the system workable,

we have to personally take troubles to

add a longer power line cord set and a platform to place the main tower or oven to match the heights. Further the aluminum duct provided is not

strong enough to bend or turn 90 degrees.

the heating element went out after the 4th. time using it an the rubber seal around the door is like on ice boxes or refrigarator an you know it make common scence that the seal is not gonna last against the heat, why they didn't put a fiber glass insulation seal like ashly heaters have is beyond me I guess they went the cheap way out.I would recommend a different brand an make sure the seal is not plastic or rubber. Make sure its a heat proof seal
