Book Description

October 19, 2003
When Running Wolf sees the crashed aircraft, he photographs the corpses of the eighty-seven souls as they disappear, and the images bring to light the discovery of a diabolic deed. The National Transportation Safety Board quickly determines this is beyond their scope of responsibility and requests assistance. The investigation moves from the Sioux Indian Reservation and state of South Dakota to Washington, D.C., when it becomes apparent that domestic terrorists with a biological agent are involved. Federal agencies headed by FBI Agent Bill Bradley race against time in their attempt to discover and apprehend the masterminds behind the crime.A scheduled bio-terrorist exercise provides a perfect smoke screen for the aggressors to strike their first major blow to the citizens of the United States. In the government's attempt to contain the threat within the borders of South Dakota, the exercise changes to a genuine fight for survival. It becomes clear that the state and local levels of government have been under-funded and under-trained to counter the real threat of a biological attack. Support comes from a surprising entity as the Sioux and Cheyenne Indians sacrifice a sacred secret in order to offer safe haven to the citizens. But will it be enough?

5.0 out of 5 stars YOU MUST GET THIS BOOK!, April 21, 2006
This review is from: Bradley's Ghost (Hardcover)
I just finished the most fantastic book, BRADLEY'S GHOST.

Bradley's Ghost isn't a good book, it is a GREAT book! This would be a great movie. This would be a REALLY great movie.

If you are tired of the same old plot by the usual authors, you should make the effort to track down Ray Derby's Bradley's Ghost.

Bradley's Ghost is as multidimensional as they come. He has several character groups woven through the action packed adventure that is so real you will think you were watching the evening news. Even his cameo characters "pop" with personality.

This is NOT a book to loan -- tell your friends to get their own book! This one is a keeper!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best novels I've read in years., September 18, 2004

This review is from: Bradley's Ghost (Paperback)
I've read both of Mr. Derby's books and they are riveting. It makes one realize how vulnerable we are. I couldn't put it down. I've read every book published by Patterson, Kava, Lee Child, Cornwall, Gardener, Ludlum, Grisham, King, and James Rollins. I've added Ray Derby to the top of my list of authors to watch out for new works. It's a super read. Thanks Mr. Derby for a story you just can't put down.

5.0 out of 5 stars Riveting and frightening, March 16, 2004
By
This review is from: Bradley's Ghost (Paperback)
I found the story was compelling and well written. Once I started reading, I was unable to put the book down. The idea of biological terrorism in the US, and our unpreparedness is the thing nightmares are made of. I believe the book was right on, with how this not only could happen, but the results that would follow. I enjoyed Mr. Derby's knowledge not only of the surroundings, but the people that he wrote about. His knowledge of the subject, was obviously extensive which not only made the story more believable, but chilling.
I honestly believe that Mr. Derby could be compared to other authors of this genre, and come out smelling like a rose.
I for one, will be looking for more written by Ray Derby in the future.
