About the Author

Elisabeth Davis is a Scottish-American author/illustrator whose mother came from the Isle of Arran, a small island off the west coast of Scotland. 5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE this book June 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have to admit, I'm a dog person. So I was drawn to this book because it's about a dog. OK, it is about a dog, Brae, going "back home" to Arran. But the book is more than a dog's story. It's a children's book, a bit of a geography lesson, and most importantly, a study in watercolor of a dog and a place. Davis paints Brae's face with such expression, the reader feels a bit of what the dog feels. I have 2 copies of this book: the Kindle version and in hard cover, and I NEED both copies.

More About the Author

Elisabeth Davis is a retired college English professor who began to dabble in watercolors while still teaching. Her gentle and hopeful books combine her love of children, story telling, painting, and animals. The true story of her son and daughter-in-law's shelter dog Harley inspired her to create a children's book about this wonderful agility champion.

Elisabeth donates all her author proceeds to animal rescue charities.

Davis' book Harley, The Throwaway Puppy, has been featured in the AKC Canine Partners 2011 newsletter, the Charlotte (NC) Observer, the LifewithDogs.tv website, GoodReads, and in local news.

Her newest book is Mo, A Throwaway Puppy Story, based on Harley's little brother, who also became an agility champion.
