5.0 out of 5 stars Ahead of their time in health field
I largely owe forty extra years of life--not exisitng--to the writings of Paul Bragg and his daughter Patricia. Now in my sevenites I am looking to the decades. In my thirties I was given from a few weeks to a few months to live as the result of failing health. Paul and Patricia Bragg's teachings changed everything. Would that there were more like them. 3.0 out of 5 stars Paul Bragg was a liar, but his work was brilliant.
Paul Bragg lied about his date of birth, claiming to have been born in 1881, when official records prove he was born in 1895. He lived to be 81, not 95,96, or 97. Also, he did not die in a surfing accident, he died from injuries sustained in a surfing accident. Official records also prove that Patricia Bragg is his former daughter in law, not his daughter. He also claimed...

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost impossible to find a better book..., March 8, 2006
This book is amazing. Paul Bragg is amazing. Everyone who hasn't read this book should read it immediately. It is for everyone. It will open your eyes to the truth -- we are responsible for our own health. We are not victims. If we're sick, it's our fault. It's not because there is some kind of virus or popular disease that is going around. We decide what goes into our bodies. We decide to eat things that are just not for us, like dead animals and bleached breads.

If you're sick of feeling sick, read this book! If you've ever had a headache, read this book!

My family's life has been strongly influenced by Bragg's books. My mother was very sick from a disease that could not be cured, or so said the doctors. She was allergic to medicine. After reading this book and eliminating "foods" like meat, eggs, almost all dairy, and baked foods, our family was on the way to healthy living. I was 4 years old at that time and haven't been to the doctor since then, except for yearly check-ups and one incident in which I faked a fever in order to skip a test (the doctor believed it). Because of the unbelievable complete recovery of my mother, and excellent overall health of our entire family, we too have begun influencing others and setting an example. Today I am a happy raw foodist. I eat 100% raw plant food. I love it and the raw food diet is the closest to natural living.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bragg Healthy Lifestyle is the real deal, July 28, 2001
By
I'm a very big fan of how easily Patricia Bragg can communicate with the reader. Throughout this entire book, she finds subtle ways of telling us how bad stress, meats, bad water, and other toxic things are bad for us. She goes into detail on virtually every one of these toxic things.

This book is outlined nicely, although the ideas are somewhat scatterbrained. It's nice though, because it jumps from one idea to the next, so you don't get bored about reading the same kind of topic over and over. It'll go from something like how Conrad Hilton overcame disease, to how fasting rejuvinates the mind, body, and soul, back to how we need to keep our 'pipes clean'.

I would recommend this book to everyone who values their health in any way.

5.0 out of 5 stars "The Best of The Best", April 23, 2006
The entire series of Bragg books and products will save your life! Jack LaLanne states; "he would have been dead at age 16 if he had not attended The Braggs Crusade". He is a product today at age 90, of how living the principes of Patricia Bragg and Paul Bragg, M.D. Ph.D is mere proof. Must read the entire series, if you want to feel good and stay forever young.

He also claimed to cure his sister....he had no sister. He claimed his father was a farmer who cured livestock with apple cider vinegar.....his father was a printer. This is similar to the story of Norman Walker. His followers claimed he lived to be well over 100, when in fact he lived to be 99. That said, the Bragg lifestyle is excellent. Jack Lalanne was a sick sugarholic until attended a Paul Bragg lecture at age 15. He is now 94 and in great shape! I follow the Bragg lifestyle and I have benefited enormously. I am tireless, painless, and ageless. I don't think living to 120 is reasonable, but I plan to live a long time. This is one of the best books on health and longevity, and I follow it to the letter. If you do the same, you can truly be born again. Overall an invaluable book, even though Paul Bragg made up stories and flat-out lied.

5.0 out of 5 stars Compendium of Great Information, January 31, 2009
Although the editing of this book is a bit sloppy, the information presented in it is solid gold.

It feels like the book was slapped together by a person(s) of tremendous passion and limited publishing expertise. Having said that, the crude nature of the presentation doesn't deter from the wealth of great info inside.

I'm kind of a health freak and become even more so each passing year. What's difficult about that is that it's so completely counter to mainstream America. Having resources such as this one to help point you in the right direction is a godsend.

This book has lots of great ideas, recipes and stories. I use something from this book on a daily basis. And I swear by Bragg's organic Apple Cider Vinegar and Liquid Aminos.

Wish more people in the world were like the Braggs. If they were, the world would be a much better place.

2.0 out of 5 stars not alot of information, tons of repeating, May 16, 2006
By
rizzo (Washington, D.C.) - See all my reviews
This book should only be about 10 pages for the amount of information in it. The information is good but if you buy the companion cookbook, almost none of the recipes follow the diet they prescribe. There are recipes for liver in their cookbook! That's one of the most toxic foods, so basically it appears as if they just want to make money off of you(they're certainly not altruistic health crusaders). And Paul Bragg is dead but they don't mention how he died or how old he was(certainly not 120 as promised), I read somewhere it was in a body surfing accident, but I'm skeptical. Don't buy this book, borrow it from the library because clearly they just want to make lots of money off of you buy trying to lure you in with their promises of good health that their cook book does not support, and all the information you need is on their website.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sound advice!, September 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I had read an older version of this book in the early 1970s and had followed it then with good results. Actually forgot about it and when reading it again realized how much of it I had already incorporated into my life. So it was like being introduced to an old friend.....I was able to pick up where I left off. Good sound advice.
