Legendary Brahms Performances by Legendary Performers, October 19, 2005

There are few words that can really describe Rubinstein's and the Guarneri Quartet's unwavering, passionate, and intense method at answering all of the painful difficulties of performing a Brahms piano quartet. This is simply the greatest performance of these quartets ever presented and recorded that has no close contender. Romantic piano performances by Rubinstein are simply the most flawless interpretations that have ever been performed and remain unmatched in passionate intensity. All challenges from the pieces are played with such perfection that the performers reveal with full clarity to the ear their genius talent at performing on their respective instruments. This album is indispensible to any one who truly loves the piano, Romantic chamber ensembles, or Brahms. This CD seems to be phasing out but these performances can be obtained in the individual albums of the Rubinstein Collection series that are usually sold independently from the set as well. Enjoy!
