Lawrence Power takes the Brahms Sonata's and performs them in their most raw and organic form; the way Brahms transcribed them for the Viola. Though many artists choose to perform certain parts of these sonatas in the range of the clarinet and violin, Power gets away with playing them as Brahms intended and makes it sound golden. The artistry behind the viola and the performer are unmatched in that even in the low register and against the piano, there are no balance issues and is chamber music at its best!

Fantastic recording
Lawrence Power get it completely right
Great sound and impressing gesture
I consider this recording of Op 120,together with the one of Ettore Causa and the old one of Pinchas Zukerman
to be among the very best recording made on the viola
