The Slate I received actually has 6 Lines x 20 Cells, and measures 6-1/2 x 2-5/8.
Slate is "Made in India". It is made of aluminum. There are a lot of scratches and file mark all over it from when they removed most of the rough edges. This Slate is perfect for beginners or just for taking notes. 3x5 or 4x6 index cards fit very well inside and allow use of all cells. Stylus is made of a molded plastic with a sturdy metal (not aluminum) tip. It is comfortable to use and the edges have been smoothed.

I got really interested in braille, and wanted to teach my self even though my vision is pretty ok. It's sturdy so I imagine it will last a long time. It seems really well made, easy to use.
