Product Description

From Children's Software Revue® -- "Subscribe Now!"

You may already be familiar with this excellent math activity originally found in Millie's Math House, which was one of the first programs to playfully introduce early math concepts to preschoolers. By picking numbers and body parts (antennae, eyes, feet, tails and spots) kids can build wild-looking bugs. Choosing the picture of a tail and the number four, for example, and kids will get a picture of a bug with four tails. Next, they can add ten eyes, lets say, and five spots. They'll end up with some silly looking creatures and some great number reinforcement and counting practice. There's only one activity offered, but it's a good one.
Teaches: early math, counting, numbers

Amazon.com Product Description

What has three eyes, one antenna, and nine yellow spots? Only you know for sure. Learn all you can about numbers and quantities from 1 to 10 as you build hundreds of bright, grinning bugs. Place rolling eyes, wagging tails, silly spots, and rows of feet. Print and color your works of art for even more fun. This software spotlights important early learning skills. Children see numerals, hear them spoken, and see relative quantity of objects. Spark their creativity and let them visualize how parts relate to a whole. Have them create a unique "work of art." They will hear singular and plural forms of nouns, such as one antenna, two antennae, and experiment with numbers. (Ages 3-5)

This review is from: Brain Bytes Build A Math Bug Ages 3-5 (CD-ROM)
This is a pretty neat game. I bought it for one of my students that is having difficulty counting. It really does not have the student count. Instead, it tells them to place seven tails on the bug or eight eyes... Some children can count but cannot relate the counting to a concept. This game gives them the opportunity to grasp the concept! It is a simple but effective product.
