Book Description

Made for those two moments in the day when parents and young children spend quality time together, here are two marvelous gifts--two innovative additions to the bestselling BRAIN QUEST series, each combining a single full-color deck with an adorable animal companion.

BRAIN QUEST BATHTIME offers 10 original poems and stories and over 100 questions and answers on the very subjects kids want to talk about while splashing around in the tub with Mom or Dad keeping them company. Is there such a thing as a flying fish? How many legs does an octopus have? Is sea water salty or sweet? There is silly stuff--say "toy boat" five times fast; "Little Scientist"--what would happen to an ice cube if it fell into your warm tub?; and questions about the human body and basic health. The deck is printed on waterproof paper and comes packaged with a yellow terrycloth duck that doubles as a bath mitt (and often appears in the illustrations). See also Brain Quest Bedtime.

I am a fan of Brain Quest products, but wasn't sure about this one. Basically, I wasn't sure what level it would be on. It is great fun for my almost 5 year old. There are lots of interesting science realted ideas in the book, such as: If an ice cube fell into the warm water in the tub, what would happen to it? or Which is heavier- a dry washcloth or a wet washcloth? There are jokes, poems and rhymes too. The waterproof paper makes it quite sturdy as well. Oh yes. My daughter loves the little duck washcloth puppet as well and plays with him out of the tub as well as in!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun in the tub, January 25, 2010

My 2 boys, 2 1/2 & 5 1/2, like their new bath "toy." Gives them something fun to do during bath time and Daddy likes the variety too. Filled with fun facts, jokes and educational material. Great idea! The only trouble is getting it dry after bath time; although the pages are mold free. I recommend adding this to your bath time fun or give as a gift.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too much packaging, December 19, 2009
This review is from: Brain Quest Bathtime: 175 Stories, Poems, Questions and Answers--Even Jokes and Riddles--to Read Together with a Little Duck Named Gus (Cards)
I like this product a lot, but I just found all the packaging to be too much just for a little brainquest deck. The duck isn't really interesting to my 5-year-old son, and it's too small for me to put my hand inside. I wish I'd bought a used copy with just the deck.

Otherwise, though, it's really cute, with neat bath-related trivia, questions, and experiments, and the main reason I like it is to entertain ME while I'm sitting in the bathroom. My son likes it, too.
