Great for road trips,

This review is from: Brain Quest: 1000 Questions & Answers to Challenge the Mind/2nd Grade/Ages 7-8/Deck 1 & 2 (Paperback)
My son loved the Q&A format of these cards and we exchanged "high fives" every time he got a "genius point." The cards include a good mix of super easy questions to more challenging ones--all targeted for a specific age level. It would be a stretch to call this game "educational" but the back and forth interaction between quizzer and quizzee provides great family fun. This works very well as a game to pass time in the car or on the airplane.

We have been using Brain Quest cards since the 2 to 3 year old pack. They provide a great way to introduce information to your child such as the difference between urban and suburban. They are portable so you can bring them along with you and use them to pass the time. I find that they give us a chance for one on one that is education and at times very funny.

We take the questions everywhere we go. This is the first thing my then 2 year old took off the shelf in the morning and she went to sleep with them at night. I found my first set of question cards at a yeard sale and then ordered more online. Not only are the questions fun it's also a great way to keep your toddler occupied on a trip. She is now 3 1/2 and we are still not bored with the cards.

We've owned two different Brain Quest card decks, both given to my kids as hand-me-downs. I bought the Grade 2 deck because my 1st grader needed a little more of a challenge. This deck contains questions on grammar and language, math, social studies, science, and a miscellaneous section called "grab bag".The beauty of these is that they're portable and provide a quick, and fun, distraction for restless minds. Since it's not a workbook, my kids treat it more like a game than work (though they don't keep score). Some questions are simple to answer, some require a little research or explanation. Read the questions in order or skip around the deck: it's that flexible. We've taken this deck on trips in the car, to the Dr. office, into restaurants, or just quizzed each other when we're bored at home. My sons even read the cards on their own (and memorize the "Genius Point" answers to fool mom). Highly recommended.

Great educational car ride item for the kids,
This review is from: Brain Quest Grade 2 (Cards)
My daughter loves reading this on car rides. We keep her current and next grade level decks in the car, within her reach. They are great educational items that can stay in the car and provide a learning experience when they would otherwise be bored.
