Questions are too easy for a 3 - 4 year old,
By
This review is from: Brain Quest for Threes (Cards)
Although we have fun with these I was a little disappointed in the questions for my 3 1/2 year old. There are a few that made him think or we could talk about but there's a lot of stuff like "I bark and wag my tail". It comes with a picture of a cat, dog and gerbil. Lots of "What letter is this?" "Which one is orange?" "Which jar is full?" as opposed to half full or empty. I was going to return them but found that my son likes reading the questions to me so it will work for reading skills but not what I had hoped for. I should have bought this pack a year ago when he was 2 or 2 1/2, it would have been more fun.

I happened to stumble across Brain Quest for Threes and bought it because it's compact packaging looked convenient. I put in my car to pull out whenever I brought my 3 and 5 year olds to appointments or weekends away. I was thrilled to discover that my kids really enjoyed playing the game and I could easily play with them both by taking turns. There are so many questions that the cards always seem new. My 5 year old often pulls it out to play by herself and the easy to understand answer cards allow her to do so. I have purchased other Brain Quest products for the subsquent age groups.

I got this for my daughter when she was 2 1/2 and she had a lot of success with the questions. She often amazes me with the things that she does know, and takes great pleasure in these "surprises". I like this product because it covers so many different areas - letter identification, colors, numbers, and everyday knowledge. Her 7 year old sister also enjoys "quizzing" her, and they pass quite a bit of time this way on car trips. Now they can use their Brain Quest together. I do several pages for one while the other listens, then we switch. I started off with Brain Quest Toddler and plan to use them all as my children grow.

best for 2- or 3-year-old,

I bought this on a whim for my 2 1/2-year-old; at the time it was the youngest series on the shelf. She could already answer 3/4 of the questions. She loves to play with the cards and actually brings them to me, but after only a few weeks of play, she's memorized the few questions she didn't know. Don't wait until a 3rd or 4th birthday for this one.

Brain Quest for Threes,

Our very-verbal two year-old LOVES this deck of questions, and she'll continue to get a lot of use out of it since there are many she can't yet answer. Very practical things that all kids should know are presented here.

My daughter loved the Toddler decks, so I purchased this one. She is not even three yet and could answer most of the questions. But, what I like about them is that they expand her vocabulary and help her with comparisons. They also reinforce counting and other important skills. We have moved on to the decks for ages 4-5 and she is enjoying those too. FYI, comparison shop, sometimes you can find them at warehouse stores for nearly half the suggested retail price.

Great learning/fun tool. If your 3 or 3 1/2 year old is fairly vocal, maybe try the 4-5 year old one. A lot of questions in this group are simple and don't require too much thought. Would recommend this item. It is great fun for quiet learning time or in the car.

I would definitely buy!,

I love Brain Quest and so does my three year old son. His grandma bought him them for Christmas, and he wants to read them all the time! He has two baby brothers, so it is a great thing for us to do together when they are sleeping. Also, it keeps him quiet so they can sleep. He can do most of them pretty well. I love the fact that it expands beyond the product. In the book, it is constantly making you think and broaden your mind. He now comes up with his own questions. He asked the other day, "Mommy what part of my bear is missing?" My only regret is there is not more questions for 3 year old. I am going to go out and buy the 4-5 year old pack, which may be a little more challenging, but I am sure he will enjoy!

I was so pleased with how age appropriate these questions were for a 3 year old. I am also very pleased with how much he loves to go through the questions. This is a great product.

My two and a half year old loves Brain Quest. He thinks it's a game that just he and I play together. I was surprised at just how much he knew and it's also proved to teach him things he didn't know. Awesome learning tool.
