I used to give them as birthday gifts to my high school students and they loved them.
There is no place for the pencil - so, though they are, in fact, brain shaped erasers, they are NOT brain shaped PENCIL TOP erasers.
We've never used them as erasers or pencil toppers, but I can see they would be delightful fun for school children.
