My fiancé is recovering from a TBI and like the authors of this book, I have placed all my faith in the hands of God. I made God a promise that if He pulled my fiancé through this, I would do everything in my power to help him recover, and that's what I'm doing now. The selected Bible verses throughout the book brought tears of joy and faith to my eyes. They spoke of exactly what I have been feeling throughout this journey. We are still at the very beginning and we have a long path ahead of us, but I know with God on our side, we will continue on and make progress. Hearing certain points from the survivor's point of view was also very helpful. There are times when I can only wonder what my fiancé is going through in his mind. I also enjoyed the fact that the journey was explained without too much medical terminology. Since this accident has happened, I have read enough scary medical facts to last a lifetime! Talk about being discouraged! Thanks to the authors for sharing their story and offering some hope to those of us at the very beginning of our recovery.

This is very well written and helpful. As I knew it would be..considering the authors. I was fortunate to be the organist for the wedding ceremony of Laura and Bruce Allen (over 31 years ago).
It was a ceremony that will never be forgotten. During that ceremony I already knew that the Lord was going to use them in a tremendous way during their journey together!

This book only emphasizes my earlier thoughts.

The publication was very helpful to me as my husband suffered a stroke
only a few months ago. So many likenesses of how we are affected, though each one is different in their own way.

This book is not only a help in the medical sense. But more a help and wonderful testimony to the watch care of our Lord.

Coping with brain injury in yourself or a loved one? You'll find some tangential information here that may be of little use, but you'll also find some excellent applications of the realities, both pro and con, in this story of one family and how they coped.
