I read Steve's book at a time when my father suffered a major stroke. I was in shock, didn't know what was happening or what was going to happen. Reading about the hope and possibilities of surviving, and the brain's ability to come back was so inspiring and comforting. It really is about the road to recovery. My dad recovered fully at 85 years old. Great read!

My aunt gave me this book to read after a favorite uncle of mine suffered a head injury in a car accident. The stories within really helped the whole family realize what to expect when a loved one is recovering from brain trauma, and also gave some hope on a successful recovery. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone who is dealing with a loved one who has had a brain injury to get some really good insight on the whole situation.

Very helpful in putting the whole recovery process from brain trauma into perspective and knowing what to realistically expect. It's reassuring to know there is hope for a full recovery from this type of injury, regardless of what the doctors tell you. An excellent, quick read filled with lots of good information. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has a loved one or who themselves have suffered from a head injury.
